2:22 「この方は、罪を犯したことがなく、／その口には偽りがなかった。」

2:23 ののしられてもののしり返さず、苦しめられても人を脅さず、正しくお裁きになる方にお任せになりました。

2:24 そして、十字架にかかって、自らその身にわたしたちの罪を担ってくださいました。わたしたちが、罪に対して死んで、義によって生きるようになるためです。そのお受けになった傷によって、あなたがたはいやされました。

2:25 あなたがたは羊のようにさまよっていましたが、今は、魂の牧者であり、監督者である方のところへ戻って来たのです。

2:22 He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come from his lips.

2:23 When he was insulted, he did not answer back with an insult; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but placed his hopes in God, the righteous Judge.

2:24 Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed.

2:25 You were like sheep that had lost their way, but now you have been brought back to follow the Shepherd and Keeper of your souls.
