17:1 六日の後、イエスは、ペトロ、それにヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。

17:2 イエスの姿が彼らの目の前で変わり、顔は太陽のように輝き、服は光のように白くなった。

17:3 見ると、モーセとエリヤが現れ、イエスと語り合っていた。

17:4 ペトロが口をはさんでイエスに言った。「主よ、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。お望みでしたら、わたしがここに仮小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのため、一つはモーセのため、もう一つはエリヤのためです。」

17:5 ペトロがこう話しているうちに、光り輝く雲が彼らを覆った。すると、「これはわたしの愛する子、わたしの心に適う者。これに聞け」という声が雲の中から聞こえた。

17:6 弟子たちはこれを聞いてひれ伏し、非常に恐れた。

17:7 イエスは近づき、彼らに手を触れて言われた。「起きなさい。恐れることはない。」

17:8 彼らが顔を上げて見ると、イエスのほかにはだれもいなかった。

17:1 Six days later Jesus took with him Peter and the brothers James and John and led them up a high mountain where they were alone.

17:2 As they looked on, a change came over Jesus: his face was shining like the sun, and his clothes were dazzling white.

17:3 Then the three disciples saw Moses and Elijah talking with Jesus.

17:4 So Peter spoke up and said to Jesus, "Lord, how good it is that we are here! If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."

17:5 While he was talking, a shining cloud came over them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased-listen to him!"

17:6 When the disciples heard the voice, they were so terrified that they threw themselves face downward on the ground.

17:7 Jesus came to them and touched them. "Get up," he said. "Don't be afraid!"

17:8 So they looked up and saw no one there but Jesus.
