24:15 「預言者ダニエルの言った憎むべき破壊者が、聖なる場所に立つのを見たら――読者は悟れ――、

24:16 そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山に逃げなさい。

24:17 屋上にいる者は、家にある物を取り出そうとして下に降りてはならない。

24:18 畑にいる者は、上着を取りに帰ってはならない。

24:19 それらの日には、身重の女と乳飲み子を持つ女は不幸だ。

24:20 逃げるのが冬や安息日にならないように、祈りなさい。

24:21 そのときには、世界の初めから今までなく、今後も決してないほどの大きな苦難が来るからである。

24:22 神がその期間を縮めてくださらなければ、だれ一人救われない。しかし、神は選ばれた人たちのために、その期間を縮めてくださるであろう。

24:23 そのとき、『見よ、ここにメシアがいる』『いや、ここだ』と言う者がいても、信じてはならない。

24:24 偽メシアや偽預言者が現れて、大きなしるしや不思議な業を行い、できれば、選ばれた人たちをも惑わそうとするからである。

24:25 あなたがたには前もって言っておく。

24:26 だから、人が『見よ、メシアは荒れ野にいる』と言っても、行ってはならない。また、『見よ、奥の部屋にいる』と言っても、信じてはならない。

24:27 稲妻が東から西へひらめき渡るように、人の子も来るからである。

24:28 死体のある所には、はげ鷹が集まるものだ。」

◆人の子が来る

24:29 「その苦難の日々の後、たちまち／太陽は暗くなり、／月は光を放たず、／星は空から落ち、／天体は揺り動かされる。

24:30 そのとき、人の子の徴が天に現れる。そして、そのとき、地上のすべての民族は悲しみ、人の子が大いなる力と栄光を帯びて天の雲に乗って来るのを見る。

24:31 人の子は、大きなラッパの音を合図にその天使たちを遣わす。天使たちは、天の果てから果てまで、彼によって選ばれた人たちを四方から呼び集める。」

◆いちじくの木の教え

24:32 「いちじくの木から教えを学びなさい。枝が柔らかくなり、葉が伸びると、夏の近づいたことが分かる。

24:33 それと同じように、あなたがたは、これらすべてのことを見たなら、人の子が戸口に近づいていると悟りなさい。

24:34 はっきり言っておく。これらのことがみな起こるまでは、この時代は決して滅びない。

24:35 天地は滅びるが、わたしの言葉は決して滅びない。」

24:15 "You will see "The Awful Horror' of which the prophet Daniel spoke. It will be standing in the holy place." (Note to the reader: understand what this means!)

24:16 "Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills.

24:17 Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house.

24:18 Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak.

24:19 How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies!

24:20 Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath!

24:21 For the trouble at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again.

24:22 But God has already reduced the number of days; had he not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, God will reduce the days.

24:23 "Then, if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Messiah!' or "There he is!'-do not believe it.

24:24 For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible.

24:25 Listen! I have told you this ahead of time.

24:26 "Or, if people should tell you, "Look, he is out in the desert!'-don't go there; or if they say, "Look, he is hiding here!'-don't believe it.

24:27 For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west.

24:28 "Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather.

24:29 "Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.

24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24:31 The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.

24:32 "Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near.

24:33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin.

24:34 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.

24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
