24:23 そのとき、『見よ、ここにメシアがいる』『いや、ここだ』と言う者がいても、信じてはならない。

24:24 偽メシアや偽預言者が現れて、大きなしるしや不思議な業を行い、できれば、選ばれた人たちをも惑わそうとするからである。

24:25 あなたがたには前もって言っておく。

24:26 だから、人が『見よ、メシアは荒れ野にいる』と言っても、行ってはならない。また、『見よ、奥の部屋にいる』と言っても、信じてはならない。

24:27 稲妻が東から西へひらめき渡るように、人の子も来るからである。

24:28 死体のある所には、はげ鷹が集まるものだ。」

◆人の子が来る

24:29 「その苦難の日々の後、たちまち／太陽は暗くなり、／月は光を放たず、／星は空から落ち、／天体は揺り動かされる。

24:30 そのとき、人の子の徴が天に現れる。そして、そのとき、地上のすべての民族は悲しみ、人の子が大いなる力と栄光を帯びて天の雲に乗って来るのを見る。

24:31 人の子は、大きなラッパの音を合図にその天使たちを遣わす。天使たちは、天の果てから果てまで、彼によって選ばれた人たちを四方から呼び集める。」

◆いちじくの木の教え

24:32 「いちじくの木から教えを学びなさい。枝が柔らかくなり、葉が伸びると、夏の近づいたことが分かる。

24:33 それと同じように、あなたがたは、これらすべてのことを見たなら、人の子が戸口に近づいていると悟りなさい。

24:34 はっきり言っておく。これらのことがみな起こるまでは、この時代は決して滅びない。

24:35 天地は滅びるが、わたしの言葉は決して滅びない。」

◆目を覚ましていなさい

24:36 「その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天使たちも子も知らない。ただ、父だけがご存じである。

24:37 人の子が来るのは、ノアの時と同じだからである。

24:38 洪水になる前は、ノアが箱舟に入るその日まで、人々は食べたり飲んだり、めとったり嫁いだりしていた。

24:39 そして、洪水が襲って来て一人残らずさらうまで、何も気がつかなかった。人の子が来る場合も、このようである。

24:40 そのとき、畑に二人の男がいれば、一人は連れて行かれ、もう一人は残される。

24:41 二人の女が臼をひいていれば、一人は連れて行かれ、もう一人は残される。

24:42 だから、目を覚ましていなさい。いつの日、自分の主が帰って来られるのか、あなたがたには分からないからである。

24:43 このことをわきまえていなさい。家の主人は、泥棒が夜のいつごろやって来るかを知っていたら、目を覚ましていて、みすみす自分の家に押し入らせはしないだろう。

24:44 だから、あなたがたも用意していなさい。人の子は思いがけない時に来るからである。」

24:23 "Then, if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Messiah!' or "There he is!'-do not believe it.

24:24 For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible.

24:25 Listen! I have told you this ahead of time.

24:26 "Or, if people should tell you, "Look, he is out in the desert!'-don't go there; or if they say, "Look, he is hiding here!'-don't believe it.

24:27 For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west.

24:28 "Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather.

24:29 "Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.

24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24:31 The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.

24:32 "Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near.

24:33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin.

24:34 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.

24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

24:36 "No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come-neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows.

24:37 The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the time of Noah.

24:38 In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat;

24:39 yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes.

24:40 At that time two men will be working in a field: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.

24:41 Two women will be at a mill grinding meal: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.

24:42 Watch out, then, because you do not know what day your Lord will come.

24:43 If the owner of a house knew the time when the thief would come, you can be sure that he would stay awake and not let the thief break into his house.

24:44 So then, you also must always be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him.
