4:25 女が言った。「わたしは、キリストと呼ばれるメシアが来られることは知っています。その方が来られるとき、わたしたちに一切のことを知らせてくださいます。」

4:26 イエスは言われた。「それは、あなたと話をしているこのわたしである。」

4:27 ちょうどそのとき、弟子たちが帰って来て、イエスが女の人と話をしておられるのに驚いた。しかし、「何か御用ですか」とか、「何をこの人と話しておられるのですか」と言う者はいなかった。

4:28 女は、水がめをそこに置いたまま町に行き、人々に言った。

4:29 「さあ、見に来てください。わたしが行ったことをすべて、言い当てた人がいます。もしかしたら、この方がメシアかもしれません。」

4:30 人々は町を出て、イエスのもとへやって来た。

4:25 The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things."

4:26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He."

4:27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why are You talking with her?"

4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men,

4:29 "Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"

4:30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.

4:25 The woman said to him, "I know that the Messiah will come, and when he comes, he will tell us everything."

4:26 Jesus answered, "I am he, I who am talking with you."

4:27 At that moment Jesus' disciples returned, and they were greatly surprised to find him talking with a woman. But none of them said to her, "What do you want?" or asked him, "Why are you talking with her?"

4:28 Then the woman left her water jar, went back to the town, and said to the people there,

4:29 "Come and see the man who told me everything I have ever done. Could he be the Messiah?"

4:30 So they left the town and went to Jesus.
