5:41 わたしは、人からの誉れは受けない。

5:42 しかし、あなたたちの内には神への愛がないことを、わたしは知っている。

5:43 わたしは父の名によって来たのに、あなたたちはわたしを受け入れない。もし、ほかの人が自分の名によって来れば、あなたたちは受け入れる。

5:44 互いに相手からの誉れは受けるのに、唯一の神からの誉れは求めようとしないあなたたちには、どうして信じることができようか。

5:45 わたしが父にあなたたちを訴えるなどと、考えてはならない。あなたたちを訴えるのは、あなたたちが頼りにしているモーセなのだ。

5:46 あなたたちは、モーセを信じたのであれば、わたしをも信じたはずだ。モーセは、わたしについて書いているからである。

5:47 しかし、モーセの書いたことを信じないのであれば、どうしてわたしが語ることを信じることができようか。」

5:41 "I do not receive honor from men.

5:42 "But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.

5:43 "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

5:44 "How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

5:45 "Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you-Moses, in whom you trust.

5:46 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

5:47 "But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

5:41 "I am not looking for human praise.

5:42 But I know what kind of people you are, and I know that you have no love for God in your hearts.

5:43 I have come with my Father's authority, but you have not received me; when, however, someone comes with his own authority, you will receive him.

5:44 You like to receive praise from one another, but you do not try to win praise from the one who alone is God; how, then, can you believe me?

5:45 Do not think, however, that I am the one who will accuse you to my Father. Moses, in whom you have put your hope, is the very one who will accuse you.

5:46 If you had really believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me.

5:47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how can you believe what I say?"
