7:45 さて、下役どもが祭司長たちやパリサイ人たちのところに帰ってきたので、彼らはその下役どもに言った、「なぜ、あの人を連れてこなかったのか」。

7:49 律法をわきまえないこの群衆は、のろわれている」。

7:50 彼らの中のひとりで、以前にイエスに会いにきたことのあるニコデモが、彼らに言った、

7:51 「わたしたちの律法によれば、まずその人の言い分を聞き、その人のしたことを知った上でなければ、さばくことをしないのではないか」。

7:52 彼らは答えて言った、「あなたもガリラヤ出なのか。よく調べてみなさい、ガリラヤからは預言者が出るものではないことが、わかるだろう」。

7:53 〔そして、人々はおのおの家に帰って行った。

7:45 それから役人たちは祭司長、パリサイ人たちのもとに帰って来た。彼らは役人たちに言った。「なぜあの人を連れて来なかったのか。」

7:46 役人たちは答えた。「あの人が話すように話した人は、いまだかつてありません。」

7:47 すると、パリサイ人が答えた。「おまえたちも惑わされているのか。

7:48 議員とかパリサイ人のうちで、だれかイエスを信じた者があったか。

7:49 だが、律法を知らないこの群衆は、のろわれている。」

7:50 彼らのうちのひとりで、イエスのもとに来たことのあるニコデモが彼らに言った。

7:51 「私たちの律法では、まずその人から直接聞き、その人が何をしているのか知ったうえでなければ、判決を下さないのではないか。」

7:52 彼らは答えて言った。「あなたもガリラヤの出身なのか。調べてみなさい。ガリラヤから預言者は起こらない。」

7:48 議員やファリサイ派の人々の中に、あの男を信じた者がいるだろうか。

7:51 「我々の律法によれば、まず本人から事情を聞き、何をしたかを確かめたうえでなければ、判決を下してはならないことになっているではないか。」

7:52 彼らは答えて言った。「あなたもガリラヤ出身なのか。よく調べてみなさい。ガリラヤからは預言者の出ないことが分かる。」

◆わたしもあなたを罪に定めない

7:53 〔人々はおのおの家へ帰って行った。

7:45 Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, "Why have you not brought Him?"

7:46 The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man!"

7:47 Then the Pharisees answered them, "Are you also deceived?

7:48 "Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?

7:49 "But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed."

7:50 Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,

7:51 "Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?"

7:52 They answered and said to him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee."

7:53 And everyone went to his own house.

7:45 When the guards went back, the chief priests and Pharisees asked them, "Why did you not bring him?"

7:46 The guards answered, "Nobody has ever talked the way this man does!"

7:47 "Did he fool you, too?" the Pharisees asked them.

7:48 "Have you ever known one of the authorities or one Pharisee to believe in him?

7:49 This crowd does not know the Law of Moses, so they are under God's curse!"

7:50 One of the Pharisees there was Nicodemus, the man who had gone to see Jesus before. He said to the others,

7:51 "According to our Law we cannot condemn people before hearing them and finding out what they have done."

7:52 "Well," they answered, "are you also from Galilee? Study the Scriptures and you will learn that no prophet ever comes from Galilee."
