10:19 この話をめぐって、ユダヤ人たちの間にまた対立が生じた。

10:20 多くのユダヤ人は言った。「彼は悪霊に取りつかれて、気が変になっている。なぜ、あなたたちは彼の言うことに耳を貸すのか。」

10:21 ほかの者たちは言った。「悪霊に取りつかれた者は、こういうことは言えない。悪霊に盲人の目が開けられようか。」

◆ユダヤ人、イエスを拒絶する

10:22 そのころ、エルサレムで神殿奉献記念祭が行われた。冬であった。

10:23 イエスは、神殿の境内でソロモンの回廊を歩いておられた。

10:24 すると、ユダヤ人たちがイエスを取り囲んで言った。「いつまで、わたしたちに気をもませるのか。もしメシアなら、はっきりそう言いなさい。」

10:25 イエスは答えられた。「わたしは言ったが、あなたたちは信じない。わたしが父の名によって行う業が、わたしについて証しをしている。

10:26 しかし、あなたたちは信じない。わたしの羊ではないからである。

10:27 わたしの羊はわたしの声を聞き分ける。わたしは彼らを知っており、彼らはわたしに従う。

10:28 わたしは彼らに永遠の命を与える。彼らは決して滅びず、だれも彼らをわたしの手から奪うことはできない。

10:29 わたしの父がわたしにくださったものは、すべてのものより偉大であり、だれも父の手から奪うことはできない。

10:30 わたしと父とは一つである。」

10:19 Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings.

10:20 And many of them said, "He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?"

10:21 Others said, "These are not the words of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"

10:22 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.

10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.

10:24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."

10:25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.

10:26 "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

10:28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

10:29 "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.

10:30 "I and My Father are one."

10:19 Again there was a division among the people because of these words.

10:20 Many of them were saying, "He has a demon! He is crazy! Why do you listen to him?"

10:21 But others were saying, "A man with a demon could not talk like this! How could a demon give sight to blind people?"

10:22 It was winter, and the Festival of the Dedication of the Temple was being celebrated in Jerusalem.

10:23 Jesus was walking in Solomon's Porch in the Temple,

10:24 when the people gathered around him and asked, "How long are you going to keep us in suspense? Tell us the plain truth: are you the Messiah?"

10:25 Jesus answered, "I have already told you, but you would not believe me. The deeds I do by my Father's authority speak on my behalf;

10:26 but you will not believe, for you are not my sheep.

10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me.

10:29 What my Father has given me is greater than everything, and no one can snatch them away from the Father's care.

10:30 The Father and I are one."
