1:4 天地創造の前に、神はわたしたちを愛して、御自分の前で聖なる者、汚れのない者にしようと、キリストにおいてお選びになりました。

1:5 イエス・キリストによって神の子にしようと、御心のままに前もってお定めになったのです。

1:6 神がその愛する御子によって与えてくださった輝かしい恵みを、わたしたちがたたえるためです。

1:7 わたしたちはこの御子において、その血によって贖われ、罪を赦されました。これは、神の豊かな恵みによるものです。

1:8 神はこの恵みをわたしたちの上にあふれさせ、すべての知恵と理解とを与えて、

1:9 秘められた計画をわたしたちに知らせてくださいました。これは、前もってキリストにおいてお決めになった神の御心によるものです。

1:10 こうして、時が満ちるに及んで、救いの業が完成され、あらゆるものが、頭であるキリストのもとに一つにまとめられます。天にあるものも地にあるものもキリストのもとに一つにまとめられるのです。

1:11 キリストにおいてわたしたちは、御心のままにすべてのことを行われる方の御計画によって前もって定められ、約束されたものの相続者とされました。

1:12 それは、以前からキリストに希望を置いていたわたしたちが、神の栄光をたたえるためです。

1:13 あなたがたもまた、キリストにおいて、真理の言葉、救いをもたらす福音を聞き、そして信じて、約束された聖霊で証印を押されたのです。

1:14 この聖霊は、わたしたちが御国を受け継ぐための保証であり、こうして、わたしたちは贖われて神のものとなり、神の栄光をたたえることになるのです。

ＴＥＶ エペ 1:4-14

1:4 Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be his through our union with Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before him. /Because of his love

1:5 God had already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us his children-this was his pleasure and purpose.

1:6 Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son!

1:7 For by the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God,

1:8 which he gave to us in such large measure! /In all his wisdom and insight

1:9 God did what he had purposed, and made known to us the secret plan he had already decided to complete by means of Christ.

1:10 This plan, which God will complete when the time is right, is to bring all creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as head.

1:11 All things are done according to God's plan and decision; and God chose us to be his own people in union with Christ because of his own purpose, based on what he had decided from the very beginning.

1:12 Let us, then, who were the first to hope in Christ, praise God's glory!

1:13 And you also became God's people when you heard the true message, the Good News that brought you salvation. You believed in Christ, and God put his stamp of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit he had promised.

1:14 The Spirit is the guarantee that we shall receive what God has promised his people, and this assures us that God will give complete freedom to those who are his. Let us praise his glory!
