18:1 こう話し終えると、イエスは弟子たちと一緒に、キドロンの谷の向こうへ出て行かれた。そこには園があり、イエスは弟子たちとその中に入られた。

18:2 イエスを裏切ろうとしていたユダも、その場所を知っていた。イエスは、弟子たちと共に度々ここに集まっておられたからである。

18:3 それでユダは、一隊の兵士と、祭司長たちやファリサイ派の人々の遣わした下役たちを引き連れて、そこにやって来た。松明やともし火や武器を手にしていた。

18:4 イエスは御自分の身に起こることを何もかも知っておられ、進み出て、「だれを捜しているのか」と言われた。

18:5 彼らが「ナザレのイエスだ」と答えると、イエスは「わたしである」と言われた。イエスを裏切ろうとしていたユダも彼らと一緒にいた。

18:6 イエスが「わたしである」と言われたとき、彼らは後ずさりして、地に倒れた。

18:7 そこで、イエスが「だれを捜しているのか」と重ねてお尋ねになると、彼らは「ナザレのイエスだ」と言った。

18:8 すると、イエスは言われた。「『わたしである』と言ったではないか。わたしを捜しているのなら、この人々は去らせなさい。」

18:9 それは、「あなたが与えてくださった人を、わたしは一人も失いませんでした」と言われたイエスの言葉が実現するためであった。

18:10 シモン・ペトロは剣を持っていたので、それを抜いて大祭司の手下に打ってかかり、その右の耳を切り落とした。手下の名はマルコスであった。

18:11 イエスはペトロに言われた。「剣をさやに納めなさい。父がお与えになった杯は、飲むべきではないか。」

ＴＥＶ ヨハ 18:1-11

18:1 After Jesus had said this prayer, he left with his disciples and went across Kidron Brook. There was a garden in that place, and Jesus and his disciples went in.

18:2 Judas, the traitor, knew where it was, because many times Jesus had met there with his disciples.

18:3 So Judas went to the garden, taking with him a group of Roman soldiers, and some Temple guards sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees; they were armed and carried lanterns and torches.

18:4 Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward and asked them, "Who is it you are looking for?"

18:5 "Jesus of Nazareth," they answered. /"I am he," he said. /Judas, the traitor, was standing there with them.

18:6 When Jesus said to them, "I am he," they moved back and fell to the ground.

18:7 Again Jesus asked them, "Who is it you are looking for?" /"Jesus of Nazareth," they said.

18:8 "I have already told you that I am he," Jesus said. "If, then, you are looking for me, let these others go."

18:9 (He said this so that what he had said might come true: "Father, I have not lost even one of those you gave me.")

18:10 Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the High Priest's slave, cutting off his right ear. The name of the slave was Malchus.

18:11 Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword back in its place! Do you think that I will not drink the cup of suffering which my Father has given me?"
