7:1 あなたが行って所有する土地に、あなたの神、主があなたを導き入れ、多くの民、すなわちあなたにまさる数と力を持つ七つの民、ヘト人、ギルガシ人、アモリ人、カナン人、ペリジ人、ヒビ人、エブス人をあなたの前から追い払い、

7:2 あなたの意のままにあしらわさせ、あなたが彼らを撃つときは、彼らを必ず滅ぼし尽くさねばならない。彼らと協定を結んではならず、彼らを憐れんではならない。

7:3 彼らと縁組みをし、あなたの娘をその息子に嫁がせたり、娘をあなたの息子の嫁に迎えたりしてはならない。

7:4 あなたの息子を引き離してわたしに背かせ、彼らはついに他の神々に仕えるようになり、主の怒りがあなたたちに対して燃え、主はあなたを速やかに滅ぼされるからである。

7:5 あなたのなすべきことは、彼らの祭壇を倒し、石柱を砕き、アシェラの像を粉々にし、偶像を火で焼き払うことである。

◆神の宝の民

7:6 あなたは、あなたの神、主の聖なる民である。あなたの神、主は地の面にいるすべての民の中からあなたを選び、御自分の宝の民とされた。

7:7 主が心引かれてあなたたちを選ばれたのは、あなたたちが他のどの民よりも数が多かったからではない。あなたたちは他のどの民よりも貧弱であった。

7:8 ただ、あなたに対する主の愛のゆえに、あなたたちの先祖に誓われた誓いを守られたゆえに、主は力ある御手をもってあなたたちを導き出し、エジプトの王、ファラオが支配する奴隷の家から救い出されたのである。

7:9 あなたは知らねばならない。あなたの神、主が神であり、信頼すべき神であることを。この方は、御自分を愛し、その戒めを守る者には千代にわたって契約を守り、慈しみを注がれるが、

7:10 御自分を否む者にはめいめいに報いて滅ぼされる。主は、御自分を否む者には、ためらうことなくめいめいに報いられる。

7:11 あなたは、今日わたしが、「行え」と命じた戒めと掟と法を守らねばならない。

7:12 あなたたちがこれらの法に聞き従い、それを忠実に守るならば、あなたの神、主は先祖に誓われた契約を守り、慈しみを注いで、

7:13 あなたを愛し、祝福し、数を増やしてくださる。主は、あなたに与えると先祖に誓われた土地で、あなたの身から生まれる子と、土地の実り、すなわち穀物、新しいぶどう酒、オリーブ油など、それに牛の子や羊の子を祝福してくださる。

7:14 あなたはすべての民の中で最も祝福される。あなたのうちには子のない男も女もなく、あなたの家畜にも子のないものはない。

7:15 主はあらゆる病気からあなたを守り、あなたの知っているエジプトのあらゆる重い病気にかからせず、あなたを憎むすべての者にこれを下す。

ＴＥＶ 申  7:1-15

7:1 "The Lord your God will bring you into the land that you are going to occupy, and he will drive many nations out of it. As you advance, he will drive out seven nations larger and more powerful than you: the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

7:2 When the Lord your God places these people in your power and you defeat them, you must put them all to death. Do not make an alliance with them or show them any mercy.

7:3 Do not marry any of them, and do not let your children marry any of them,

7:4 because then they would lead your children away from the Lord to worship other gods. If that happens, the Lord will be angry with you and destroy you at once.

7:5 So then, tear down their altars, break their sacred stone pillars in pieces, cut down their symbols of the goddess Asherah, and burn their idols.

7:6 Do this because you belong to the Lord your God. From all the peoples on earth he chose you to be his own special people.

7:7 "The Lord did not love you and choose you because you outnumbered other peoples; you were the smallest nation on earth.

7:8 But the Lord loved you and wanted to keep the promise that he made to your ancestors. That is why he saved you by his great might and set you free from slavery to the king of Egypt.

7:9 Remember that the Lord your God is the only God and that he is faithful. He will keep his covenant and show his constant love to a thousand generations of those who love him and obey his commands,

7:10 but he will not hesitate to punish those who hate him.

7:11 Now then, obey what you have been taught; obey all the laws that I have given you today.

7:12 "If you listen to these commands and obey them faithfully, then the Lord your God will continue to keep his covenant with you and will show you his constant love, as he promised your ancestors.

7:13 He will love you and bless you, so that you will increase in number and have many children; he will bless your fields, so that you will have grain, wine, and olive oil; and he will bless you by giving you many cattle and sheep. He will give you all these blessings in the land that he promised your ancestors he would give to you.

7:14 No people in the world will be as richly blessed as you. None of you nor any of your livestock will be sterile.

7:15 The Lord will protect you from all sickness, and he will not bring on you any of the dreadful diseases that you experienced in Egypt, but he will bring them on all your enemies.
