16:18 あなたの神、主が部族ごとに与えられるすべての町に、裁判人と役人を置き、正しい裁きをもって民を裁かせなさい。

16:19 裁きを曲げず、偏り見ず、賄賂を受け取ってはならない。賄賂は賢い者の目をくらませ、正しい者の言い分をゆがめるからである。

16:20 ただ正しいことのみを追求しなさい。そうすれば命を得、あなたの神、主が与えられる土地を得ることができる。

◆正しい礼拝

16:21 あなたは、あなたの神、主の祭壇を築いて、そのそばに、アシェラ像をはじめいかなる木の柱も据えてはならない。

16:22 また、あなたの神、主が憎まれる石柱を立ててはならない。 

新共同 申  17:1-20

17:1 いかなる欠陥であれ傷のある牛や羊を、あなたの神、主にいけにえとしてささげてはならない。それは、あなたの神、主のいとわれることである。

17:2 あなたの神、主が与えられるどこかの町で、あなたの中に、男にせよ女にせよ、あなたの神、主が悪と見なされることを行って、契約を破り、

17:3 他の神々に仕え、その神々や太陽、月、天の万象などわたしが命じたことのないものにひれ伏す者がいるならば、

17:4 その知らせを受け、それを聞いたときには、よく調べなさい。もし、それが確かな事実であり、イスラエルの中でこうした、いとうべきことが行われたのであれば、

17:5 この悪事を行った当の男ないし女を町の門に引き出し、その男ないし女を石で打ちなさい。彼らは死なねばならない。

17:6 死刑に処せられるには、二人ないし三人の証言を必要とする。一人の証人の証言で死刑に処せられてはならない。

17:7 死刑の執行に当たっては、まず証人が手を下し、次に民が全員手を下す。あなたはこうして、あなたの中から悪を取り除かねばならない。

◆上告について

17:8 あなたの町で、流血、もめ事、傷害などの訴えを裁くのが極めて難しいならば、直ちにあなたの神、主が選ばれる場所に上り、

17:9 レビ人である祭司およびその時、任に就いている裁判人のもとに行って尋ねなさい。彼らが判決を告げるであろう。

17:10 あなたは、彼らが主の選ばれる場所から告げる判決に従い、彼らの指示するとおりに忠実に実行しなければならない。

17:11 あなたは彼らの示す指示と下す判決に従い、彼らが告げる言葉に背いて、右にも左にもそれてはならない。

17:12 あなたの神、主に仕えてそこに立つ祭司あるいは裁判人を無視して、勝手にふるまう者があれば、その者を死刑に処し、イスラエルの中から悪を取り除かねばならない。

17:13 民は皆、これを聞くと、恐れを抱き、もはや勝手にふるまうことはないであろう。

◆王に関する規定

17:14 あなたが、あなたの神、主の与えられる土地に入って、それを得て、そこに住むようになり、「周囲のすべての国々と同様、わたしを治める王を立てよう」と言うならば、

17:15 必ず、あなたの神、主が選ばれる者を王としなさい。同胞の中からあなたを治める王を立て、同胞でない外国人をあなたの上に立てることはできない。

17:16 王は馬を増やしてはならない。馬を増やすために、民をエジプトへ送り返すことがあってはならない。「あなたたちは二度とこの道を戻ってはならない」と主は言われた。

17:17 王は大勢の妻をめとって、心を迷わしてはならない。銀や金を大量に蓄えてはならない。

17:18 彼が王位についたならば、レビ人である祭司のもとにある原本からこの律法の写しを作り、

17:19 それを自分の傍らに置き、生きている限り読み返し、神なる主を畏れることを学び、この律法のすべての言葉とこれらの掟を忠実に守らねばならない。

17:20 そうすれば王は同胞を見下して高ぶることなく、この戒めから右にも左にもそれることなく、王もその子らもイスラエルの中で王位を長く保つことができる。

 ＴＥＶ 申  16:18-22

16:18 "Appoint judges and other officials in every town that the Lord your God gives you. These men are to judge the people impartially.

16:19 They are not to be unjust or show partiality in their judgments; and they are not to accept bribes, for gifts blind the eyes even of wise and honest men, and cause them to give wrong decisions.

16:20 Always be fair and just, so that you will occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you and so that you will continue to live there.

16:21 "When you make an altar for the Lord your God, do not put beside it a wooden symbol of the goddess Asherah.

16:22 And do not set up any stone pillar for idol worship; the Lord hates them.

ＴＥＶ 申  17:1-20

17:1 "Do not sacrifice to the Lord your God cattle or sheep that have any defects; the Lord hates this.

17:2 "Suppose you hear that in one of your towns some men or women have sinned against the Lord and broken his covenant

17:3 by worshiping and serving other gods or the sun or the moon or the stars, contrary to the Lord's command.

17:4 If you hear such a report, then investigate it thoroughly. If it is true that this evil thing has happened in Israel,

17:5 then take them outside the town and stone them to death.

17:6 However, they may be put to death only if two or more witnesses testify against them; they are not to be put to death if there is only one witness.

17:7 The witnesses are to throw the first stones, and then the rest of the people are to stone them; in this way you will get rid of this evil.

17:8 "It may be that some cases will be too difficult for the local judges to decide, such as certain cases of property rights or of bodily injury or those cases that involve a distinction between murder and manslaughter. When this happens, go to the one place of worship chosen by the Lord your God,

17:9 and present your case to the levitical priests and to the judge who is in office at that time, and let them decide the case.

17:10 They will give their decision, and you are to do exactly as they tell you.

17:11 Accept their verdict and follow their instructions in every detail.

17:12 Anyone who dares to disobey either the judge or the priest on duty is to be put to death; in this way you will remove this evil from Israel.

17:13 Then everyone will hear of it and be afraid, and no one else will dare to act in such a way.

17:14 "After you have taken possession of the land that the Lord your God is going to give you and have settled there, then you will decide you need a king like all the nations around you.

17:15 Be sure that the man you choose to be king is the one whom the Lord has chosen. He must be one of your own people; do not make a foreigner your king.

17:16 The king is not to have a large number of horses for his army, and he is not to send people to Egypt to buy horses, because the Lord has said that his people are never to return there.

17:17 The king is not to have many wives, because this would make him turn away from the Lord; and he is not to make himself rich with silver and gold.

17:18 When he becomes king, he is to have a copy of the book of God's laws and teachings made from the original copy kept by the levitical priests.

17:19 He is to keep this book near him and read from it all his life, so that he will learn to honor the Lord and to obey faithfully everything that is commanded in it.

17:20 This will keep him from thinking that he is better than other Israelites and from disobeying the Lord's commands in any way. Then he will reign for many years, and his descendants will rule Israel for many generations.
