「イスラエルの罪」

2章1-13

 新共同 エレ 2:1-13

2:1 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。

2:2 行って、エルサレムの人々に呼びかけ／耳を傾けさせよ。主はこう言われる。わたしは、あなたの若いときの真心／花嫁のときの愛／種蒔かれぬ地、荒れ野での従順を思い起こす。

2:3 イスラエルは主にささげられたもの／収穫の初穂であった。それを食べる者はみな罰せられ／災いを被った、と主は言われる。

2:4 ヤコブの家よ／イスラエルの家のすべての部族よ／主の言葉を聞け。

2:5 主はこう言われる。お前たちの先祖は／わたしにどんなおちどがあったので／遠く離れて行ったのか。彼らは空しいものの後を追い／空しいものとなってしまった。

2:6 彼らは尋ねもしなかった。「主はどこにおられるのか／わたしたちをエジプトの地から上らせ／あの荒野、荒涼とした、穴だらけの地／乾ききった、暗黒の地／だれひとりそこを通らず／人の住まない地に導かれた方は」と。

2:7 わたしは、お前たちを実り豊かな地に導き／味の良い果物を食べさせた。ところが、お前たちはわたしの土地に入ると／そこを汚し／わたしが与えた土地を忌まわしいものに変えた。

2:8 祭司たちも尋ねなかった。「主はどこにおられるのか」と。律法を教える人たちはわたしを理解せず／指導者たちはわたしに背き／預言者たちはバアルによって預言し／助けにならぬものの後を追った。

2:9 それゆえ、わたしはお前たちを／あらためて告発し／また、お前たちの子孫と争うと／主は言われる。

2:10 キティムの島々に渡って、尋ね／ケダルに人を送って、よく調べさせ／果たして、こんなことがあったかどうか確かめよ。

2:11 一体、どこの国が／神々を取り替えたことがあろうか／しかも、神でないものと。ところが、わが民はおのが栄光を／助けにならぬものと取り替えた。

2:12 天よ、驚け、このことを／大いに、震えおののけ、と主は言われる。

2:13 まことに、わが民は二つの悪を行った。生ける水の源であるわたしを捨てて／無用の水溜めを掘った。水をためることのできない／こわれた水溜めを。

ＴＥＶ エレ 2:1-13

2:1 The Lord told me

2:2 to proclaim this message to everyone in Jerusalem. /"I remember how faithful you were when you were young, /how you loved me when we were first married; /you followed me through the desert, /through a land that had not been planted.

2:3 Israel, you belonged to me alone; /you were my sacred possession. /I sent suffering and disaster /on everyone who hurt you. /I, the Lord, have spoken."

2:4 Listen to the Lord's message, you descendants of Jacob, you tribes of Israel.

2:5 The Lord says: /"What accusation did your ancestors bring against me? /What made them turn away from me? /They worshiped worthless idols /and became worthless themselves.

2:6 They did not care about me, /even though I rescued them from Egypt /and led them through the wilderness: /a land of deserts and sand pits, /a dry and dangerous land /where no one lives /and no one will even travel.

2:7 I brought them into a fertile land, /to enjoy its harvests and its other good things. /But instead they ruined my land; /they defiled the country I had given them.

2:8 The priests did not ask, "Where is the Lord?' /My own priests did not know me. /The rulers rebelled against me; /the prophets spoke in the name of Baal /and worshiped useless idols.

2:9 "And so I, the Lord, will state my case against my people again. /I will bring charges against their descendants.

2:10 Go west to the island of Cyprus, /and send someone eastward to the land of Kedar. /You will see that nothing like this has ever happened before.

2:11 No other nation has ever changed its gods, /even though they were not real. /But my people have exchanged me, /the God who has brought them honor, /for gods that can do nothing for them.

2:12 And so I command the sky to shake with horror, /to be amazed and astonished,

2:13 for my people have committed two sins: /they have turned away from me, /the spring of fresh water, /and they have dug cisterns, /cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all.
