新共同 イザ 13:1-22

13:1 アモツの子イザヤが幻に見た、バビロンについての託宣。

13:2 はげ山の上に旗を立て／彼らに向かって大声をあげ、手を振り／貴族の門から入らせよ。

13:3 わたしは、自ら聖別した者らに命じ／わたしの勇士、勝ち誇る兵士らを招いて／わたしの怒りを行わせる。

13:4 山々にどよめく音がする／多くの民の集う物音が。もろもろの国が騒ぎ立ち／諸国の民の集められる音がする。万軍の主が、軍勢を召集される。

13:5 彼らは遠くの地から来る／地平線のかなたから。主とその怒りの道具として／この国を滅ぼし尽くすために。

13:6 泣き叫べ、主の日が近づく。全能者が破壊する者を送られる。

13:7 それゆえ、すべての手は弱くなり／人は皆、勇気を失い、

13:8 恐れる。彼らは痛みと苦しみに捕らえられ／産婦のようにもだえ／驚きのあまり、顔を見合わせ／その顔は炎のようになる。

13:9 見よ、主の日が来る／残忍な、怒りと憤りの日が。大地を荒廃させ／そこから罪人を絶つために。

13:10 天のもろもろの星とその星座は光を放たず／太陽は昇っても闇に閉ざされ／月も光を輝かさない。

13:11 わたしは、世界をその悪のゆえに／逆らう者をその罪のゆえに罰する。また、傲慢な者の驕りを砕き／横暴な者の高ぶりを挫く。

13:12 わたしは、人を純金よりもまれなものとし／オフィルの黄金よりも得難いものとする。

13:13 わたしは天を震わせる。大地はその基から揺れる。万軍の主の怒りのゆえに／その憤りの日に。

13:14 追われるかもしかのように／集める者のない羊のようになって／人は身を翻して自分の民に向かい／自分の国へ逃げて行く。

13:15 見つけ出された者は皆、刺し殺され／捕らえられた者は皆、剣に倒れる。

13:16 幼子たちは彼らの目の前で打ち砕かれ／どの家も強奪され、女たちは辱められる。

13:17 見よ、彼らに対して／わたしはメディア人を奮い立たせる。彼らは銀に目もくれず／金を欲しがることもない。

13:18 彼らの弓は若者たちを打ち砕き／胎内の子さえ憐れまず／子供らにも情けの目を向けない。

13:19 バビロンは国々の中で最も麗しく／カルデア人の誇りであり栄光であったが／神がソドムとゴモラを／覆されたときのようになる。

13:20 もはや、だれもそこに宿ることはなく／代々にわたってだれも住むことはない。アラブ人さえ、そこには天幕を張らず／羊飼いも、群れを休ませない。

13:21 かえって、ハイエナがそこに伏し／家々にはみみずくが群がり／駝鳥が住み、山羊の魔神が踊る。

13:22 立ち並ぶ館の中で、山犬が／華やかだった宮殿で、ジャッカルがほえる。今や、都に終わりの時が迫る。その日が遅れることは決してない。

ＴＥＶ イザ 13:1-22

13:1 This is a message about Babylon, which Isaiah son of Amoz received from God.

13:2 On the top of a barren hill raise the battle flag! Shout to the soldiers and raise your arm as the signal for them to attack the gates of the proud city.

13:3 The Lord has called out his proud and confident soldiers to fight a holy war and punish those he is angry with.

13:4 Listen to the noise on the mountains-the sound of a great crowd of people, the sound of nations and kingdoms gathering. The Lord of Armies is preparing his troops for battle.

13:5 They are coming from far-off countries at the ends of the earth. In his anger the Lord is coming to devastate the whole country.

13:6 Howl in pain! The day of the Lord is near, the day when the Almighty brings destruction.

13:7 Everyone's hands will hang limp, and everyone's courage will fail.

13:8 They will all be terrified and overcome with pain, like the pain of a woman in labor. They will look at each other in fear, and their faces will burn with shame.

13:9 The day of the Lord is coming-that cruel day of his fierce anger and fury. The earth will be made a wilderness, and every sinner will be destroyed.

13:10 Every star and every constellation will stop shining, the sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will give no light.

13:11 The Lord says, "I will bring disaster on the earth and punish all wicked people for their sins. I will humble everyone who is proud and punish everyone who is arrogant and cruel.

13:12 Those who survive will be scarcer than gold.

13:13 I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place on that day when I, the Lord Almighty, show my anger.

13:14 "The foreigners living in Babylon will run away to their homelands, scattering like deer escaping from hunters, like sheep without a shepherd.

13:15 Anyone who is caught will be stabbed to death.

13:16 While they look on helplessly, their babies will be battered to death, their houses will be looted, and their wives will be raped."

13:17 The Lord says, "I am stirring up the Medes to attack Babylon. They care nothing for silver and are not tempted by gold.

13:18 With their bows and arrows they will kill the young men. They will show no mercy to babies and take no pity on children.

13:19 Babylonia is the most beautiful kingdom of all; it is the pride of its people. But I, the Lord, will overthrow Babylon as I did Sodom and Gomorrah!

13:20 No one will ever live there again. No wandering Arab will ever pitch a tent there, and no shepherd will ever pasture a flock there.

13:21 It will be a place where desert animals live and where owls build their nests. Ostriches will live there, and wild goats will prance through the ruins.

13:22 The towers and palaces will echo with the cries of hyenas and jackals. Babylon's time has come! Her days are almost over."
