4:1 さて、イエスは御霊によって荒野に導かれた。悪魔に試みられるためである。
4:2 そして、四十日四十夜、断食をし、そののち空腹になられた。
4:3 すると試みる者がきて言った、「もしあなたが神の子であるなら、これらの石がパンになるように命じてごらんなさい」。
4:4 イエスは答えて言われた、「『人はパンだけで生きるものではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言で生きるものである』と書いてある」。

by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
4:2 And when He had
fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
4:3 Now when the tempter came
to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones
become bread."
4:4 But He answered and
said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
