10:34 地上に平和をもたらすために、わたしがきたと思うな。平和ではなく、つるぎを投げ込むためにきたのである。
10:35 わたしがきたのは、人をその父と、娘をその母と、嫁をそのしゅうとめと仲たがいさせるためである。
10:36 そして家の者が、その人の敵となるであろう。
10:37 わたしよりも父または母を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。わたしよりもむすこや娘を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしくない。
10:38 また自分の十字架をとってわたしに従ってこない者はわたしにふさわしくない。
10:39 自分の命を得ている者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分の命を失っている者は、それを得るであろう。

10:34 わたしが来たのは地に平和をもたらすためだと思ってはなりません。わたしは、平和をもたらすために来たのではなく、剣をもたらすために来たのです。
10:35 なぜなら、わたしは人をその父に、娘をその母に、嫁をそのしゅうとめに逆らわせるために来たからです。
10:36 さらに、家族の者がその人の敵となります。
10:37 わたしよりも父や母を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしい者ではありません。また、わたしよりも息子や娘を愛する者は、わたしにふさわしい者ではありません。
10:38 自分の十字架を負ってわたしについて来ない者は、わたしにふさわしい者ではありません。
10:39 自分のいのちを自分のものとした者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分のいのちを失った者は、それを自分のものとします。

10:34 "Do not think
that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
10:35 "For I have
come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a
daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law';
10:36 "and 'a man's
enemies will be those of his own household.'
10:37 "He who loves
father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or
daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
10:38 "And he who
does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
10:39 "He who finds
his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

10:34 "Do not think
that I have come to bring peace to the world. No, I did not come to bring

10:35 I came to set sons
against their fathers, daughters against their mothers, daughters-in-law
against their mothers-in-law;
10:36 your worst enemies
will be the members of your own family.
10:37 "Those who
love their father or mother more than me are not fit to be my disciples; those
who love their son or daughter more than me are not fit to be my disciples.
10:38 Those who do not
take up their cross and follow in my steps are not fit to be my disciples.
10:39 Those who try to
gain their own life will lose it; but those who lose their life for my sake
will gain it.
