14:13 イエスはこのことを聞くと、舟に乗ってそこを去り、自分ひとりで寂しい所へ行かれた。しかし、群衆はそれと聞いて、町々から徒歩であとを追ってきた。
14:14 イエスは舟から上がって、大ぜいの群衆をごらんになり、彼らを深くあわれんで、そのうちの病人たちをおいやしになった。
14:15 夕方になったので、弟子たちがイエスのもとにきて言った、「ここは寂しい所でもあり、もう時もおそくなりました。群衆を解散させ、めいめいで食物を買いに、村々へ行かせてください」。
14:16 するとイエスは言われた、「彼らが出かけて行くには及ばない。あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい」。
14:17 弟子たちは言った、「わたしたちはここに、パン五つと魚二ひきしか持っていません」。
14:18 イエスは言われた、「それをここに持ってきなさい」。
14:19 そして群衆に命じて、草の上にすわらせ、五つのパンと二ひきの魚とを手に取り、天を仰いでそれを祝福し、パンをさいて弟子たちに渡された。弟子たちはそれを群衆に与えた。
14:20 みんなの者は食べて満腹した。パンくずの残りを集めると、十二のかごにいっぱいになった。
14:21 食べた者は、女と子供とを除いて、おおよそ五千人であった。

14:14 イエスは舟から上がられると、多くの群衆を見られ、彼らを深くあわれんで、彼らの病気を直された。
14:15 夕方になったので、弟子たちはイエスのところに来て言った。「ここは寂しい所ですし、時刻ももう回っています。ですから群衆を解散させてください。そして村に行ってめいめいで食物を買うようにさせてください。」
14:16 しかし、イエスは言われた。「彼らが出かけて行く必要はありません。あなたがたで、あの人たちに何か食べる物を上げなさい。」
14:17 しかし、弟子たちはイエスに言った。「ここには、パンが五つと魚が二匹よりほかありません。」
14:18 すると、イエスは言われた。「それを、ここに持って来なさい。」
14:19 そしてイエスは、群衆に命じて草の上にすわらせ、五つのパンと二匹の魚を取り、天を見上げて、それらを祝福し、パンを裂いてそれを弟子たちに与えられたので、弟子たちは群衆に配った。
14:20 人々はみな、食べて満腹した。そして、パン切れの余りを取り集めると、十二のかごにいっぱいあった。
14:21 食べた者は、女と子どもを除いて、男五千人ほどであった。

14:14 イエスは舟から上がり、大勢の群衆を見て深く憐れみ、その中の病人をいやされた。
14:15 夕暮れになったので、弟子たちがイエスのそばに来て言った。「ここは人里離れた所で、もう時間もたちました。群衆を解散させてください。そうすれば、自分で村へ食べ物を買いに行くでしょう。」
14:16 イエスは言われた。「行かせることはない。あなたがたが彼らに食べる物を与えなさい。」
14:17 弟子たちは言った。「ここにはパン五つと魚二匹しかありません。」
14:18 イエスは、「それをここに持って来なさい」と言い、
14:19 群衆には草の上に座るようにお命じになった。そして、五つのパンと二匹の魚を取り、天を仰いで賛美の祈りを唱え、パンを裂いて弟子たちにお渡しになった。弟子たちはそのパンを群衆に与えた。
14:20 すべての人が食べて満腹した。そして、残ったパンの屑を集めると、十二の籠いっぱいになった。
14:21 食べた人は、女と子供を別にして、男が五千人ほどであった。

14:13 When Jesus heard
it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the
multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
14:14 And when Jesus went
out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and
healed their sick.
14:15 When it was
evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and
the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the
villages and buy themselves food."
14:16 But Jesus said to
them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
14:17 And they said to
Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish."
14:18 He said,
"Bring them here to Me."
14:19 Then He commanded
the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the
two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to
the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
14:20 So they all ate and
were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that
remained.
14:21 Now those who had
eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

14:13 When Jesus heard
the news about John, he left there in a boat and went to a lonely place by
himself. The people heard about it, and so they left their towns and followed
him by land.
14:14 Jesus got out of
the boat, and when he saw the large crowd, his heart was filled with pity for
them, and he healed their sick.
14:15 That evening his
disciples came to him and said, "It is already very late, and this is a
lonely place. Send the people away and let them go to the villages to buy food
for themselves."
14:16 "They don't
have to leave," answered Jesus. "You yourselves give them something
to eat!"
14:17 "All we have
here are five loaves and two fish," they replied.
14:18 "Then bring
them here to me," Jesus said.
14:19 He ordered the
people to sit down on the grass; then he took the five loaves and the two fish,
looked up to heaven, and gave thanks to God. He broke the loaves and gave them
to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
14:20 Everyone ate and
had enough. Then the disciples took up twelve baskets full of what was left
over.
14:21 The number of men
who ate was about five thousand, not counting the women and children.
