45:1 ヨセフは、そばで仕えている者の前で、もはや平静を装っていることができなくなり、「みんな、ここから出て行ってくれ」と叫んだ。だれもそばにいなくなってから、ヨセフは兄弟たちに自分の身を明かした。

45:2 ヨセフは、声をあげて泣いたので、エジプト人はそれを聞き、ファラオの宮廷にも伝わった。

45:3 ヨセフは、兄弟たちに言った。「わたしはヨセフです。お父さんはまだ生きておられますか。」兄弟たちはヨセフの前で驚きのあまり、答えることができなかった。

45:4 ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った。「どうか、もっと近寄ってください。」兄弟たちがそばへ近づくと、ヨセフはまた言った。「わたしはあなたたちがエジプトへ売った弟のヨセフです。

45:5 しかし、今は、わたしをここへ売ったことを悔やんだり、責め合ったりする必要はありません。命を救うために、神がわたしをあなたたちより先にお遣わしになったのです。

45:6 この二年の間、世界中に飢饉が襲っていますが、まだこれから五年間は、耕すこともなく、収穫もないでしょう。

45:7 神がわたしをあなたたちより先にお遣わしになったのは、この国にあなたたちの残りの者を与え、あなたたちを生き永らえさせて、大いなる救いに至らせるためです。

45:8 わたしをここへ遣わしたのは、あなたたちではなく、神です。神がわたしをファラオの顧問、宮廷全体の主、エジプト全国を治める者としてくださったのです。

45:9 急いで父上のもとへ帰って、伝えてください。『息子のヨセフがこう言っています。神が、わたしを全エジプトの主としてくださいました。ためらわずに、わたしのところへおいでください。

45:10 そして、ゴシェンの地域に住んでください。そうすればあなたも、息子も孫も、羊や牛の群れも、そのほかすべてのものも、わたしの近くで暮らすことができます。

45:11 そこでのお世話は、わたしがお引き受けいたします。まだ五年間は飢饉が続くのですから、父上も家族も、そのほかすべてのものも、困ることのないようになさらなければいけません。』

45:12 さあ、お兄さんたちも、弟のベニヤミンも、自分の目で見てください。ほかならぬわたしがあなたたちに言っているのです。

45:13 エジプトでわたしが受けているすべての栄誉と、あなたたちが見たすべてのことを父上に話してください。そして、急いで父上をここへ連れて来てください。」

45:14 ヨセフは、弟ベニヤミンの首を抱いて泣いた。ベニヤミンもヨセフの首を抱いて泣いた。

45:15 ヨセフは兄弟たち皆に口づけし、彼らを抱いて泣いた。その後、兄弟たちはヨセフと語り合った。

45:16 ヨセフの兄弟たちがやって来たという知らせがファラオの宮廷に伝わると、ファラオも家来たちも喜んだ。

45:17 ファラオはヨセフに言った。「兄弟たちに、こうするように言いなさい。『家畜に荷を積んでカナンの地に行き、

45:18 父上と家族をここへ連れて来なさい。わたしは、エジプトの国の最良のものを与えよう。あなたたちはこの国の最上の産物を食べるがよい。』

45:19 また、こうするよう命じなさい。『エジプトの国から、あなたたちの子供や妻たちを乗せる馬車を引いて行き、父上もそれに乗せて来るがよい。

45:20 家財道具などには未練を残さないように。エジプトの国中で最良のものが、あなたたちのものになるのだから。』」

45:21 イスラエルの息子たちはそのとおりにした。ヨセフは、ファラオの命令に従って、彼らに馬車を与え、また道中の食糧を与えた。

45:22 ヨセフは更に、全員にそれぞれ晴れ着を与えたが、特にベニヤミンには銀三百枚と晴れ着五枚を与えた。

45:23 父にも、エジプトの最良のものを積んだろば十頭と、穀物やパン、それに父の道中に必要な食糧を積んだ雌ろば十頭を贈った。

45:24 いよいよ兄弟たちを送り出すとき、出発にあたってヨセフは、「途中で、争わないでください」と言った。

45:25 兄弟たちはエジプトからカナン地方へ上って行き、父ヤコブのもとへ帰ると、

45:26 直ちに報告した。「ヨセフがまだ生きています。しかも、エジプト全国を治める者になっています。」父は気が遠くなった。彼らの言うことが信じられなかったのである。

45:27 彼らはヨセフが話したとおりのことを、残らず父に語り、ヨセフが父を乗せるために遣わした馬車を見せた。父ヤコブは元気を取り戻した。

45:28 イスラエルは言った。「よかった。息子ヨセフがまだ生きていたとは。わたしは行こう。死ぬ前に、どうしても会いたい。」

ＴＥＶ 創  45:1-28

45:1 Joseph was no longer able to control his feelings in front of his servants, so he ordered them all to leave the room. No one else was with him when Joseph told his brothers who he was.

45:2 He cried with such loud sobs that the Egyptians heard it, and the news was taken to the king's palace.

45:3 Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?" But when his brothers heard this, they were so terrified that they could not answer.

45:4 Then Joseph said to them, "Please come closer." They did, and he said, "I am your brother Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt.

45:5 Now do not be upset or blame yourselves because you sold me here. It was really God who sent me ahead of you to save people's lives.

45:6 This is only the second year of famine in the land; there will be five more years in which there will be neither plowing nor reaping.

45:7 God sent me ahead of you to rescue you in this amazing way and to make sure that you and your descendants survive.

45:8 So it was not really you who sent me here, but God. He has made me the king's highest official. I am in charge of his whole country; I am the ruler of all Egypt.

45:9 "Now hurry back to my father and tell him that this is what his son Joseph says: "God has made me ruler of all Egypt; come to me without delay.

45:10 You can live in the region of Goshen, where you can be near me-you, your children, your grandchildren, your sheep, your goats, your cattle, and everything else that you have.

45:11 If you are in Goshen, I can take care of you. There will still be five years of famine; and I do not want you, your family, and your livestock to starve."'

45:12 Joseph continued, "Now all of you, and you too, Benjamin, can see that I am really Joseph.

45:13 Tell my father how powerful I am here in Egypt and tell him about everything that you have seen. Then hurry and bring him here."

45:14 He threw his arms around his brother Benjamin and began to cry; Benjamin also cried as he hugged him.

45:15 Then, still weeping, he embraced each of his brothers and kissed them. After that, his brothers began to talk with him.

45:16 When the news reached the palace that Joseph's brothers had come, the king and his officials were pleased.

45:17 He said to Joseph, "Tell your brothers to load their animals and to return to the land of Canaan.

45:18 Let them get their father and their families and come back here. I will give them the best land in Egypt, and they will have more than enough to live on.

45:19 Tell them also to take wagons with them from Egypt for their wives and small children and to bring their father with them.

45:20 They are not to worry about leaving their possessions behind; the best in the whole land of Egypt will be theirs."

45:21 Jacob's sons did as they were told. Joseph gave them wagons, as the king had ordered, and food for the trip.

45:22 He also gave each of them a change of clothes, but he gave Benjamin three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothes.

45:23 He sent his father ten donkeys loaded with the best Egyptian goods and ten donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and other food for the trip.

45:24 He sent his brothers off and as they left, he said to them, "Don't quarrel on the way."

45:25 They left Egypt and went back home to their father Jacob in Canaan.

45:26 "Joseph is still alive!" they told him. "He is the ruler of all Egypt!" Jacob was stunned and could not believe them.

45:27 But when they told him all that Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to take him to Egypt, he recovered from the shock.

45:28 "My son Joseph is still alive!" he said. "This is all I could ask for! I must go and see him before I die."
