５章１７節～32節

5:17 そこで、大祭司とその仲間の者、すなわち、サドカイ派の人たちが、みな嫉妬の念に満たされて立ちあがり、

5:18 使徒たちに手をかけて捕え、公共の留置場に入れた。

5:19 ところが夜、主の使が獄の戸を開き、彼らを連れ出して言った、

5:20 「さあ行きなさい。そして、宮の庭に立ち、この命の言葉を漏れなく、人々に語りなさい」。

5:21 彼らはこれを聞き、夜明けごろ宮にはいって教えはじめた。一方では、大祭司とその仲間の者とが、集まってきて、議会とイスラエル人の長老一同とを召集し、使徒たちを引き出してこさせるために、人を獄につかわした。

5:22 そこで、下役どもが行って見ると、使徒たちが獄にいないので、引き返して報告した、

5:23 「獄には、しっかりと錠がかけてあり、戸口には、番人が立っていました。ところが、あけて見たら、中にはだれもいませんでした」。

5:24 宮守がしらと祭司長たちとは、この報告を聞いて、これは、いったい、どんな事になるのだろうと、あわて惑っていた。

5:25 そこへ、ある人がきて知らせた、「行ってごらんなさい。あなたがたが獄に入れたあの人たちが、宮の庭に立って、民衆を教えています」。

5:26 そこで宮守がしらが、下役どもと一緒に出かけて行って、使徒たちを連れてきた。しかし、人々に石で打ち殺されるのを恐れて、手荒なことはせず、

5:27 彼らを連れてきて、議会の中に立たせた。すると、大祭司が問うて

5:28 言った、「あの名を使って教えてはならないと、きびしく命じておいたではないか。それだのに、なんという事だ。エルサレム中にあなたがたの教を、はんらんさせている。あなたがたは確かに、あの人の血の責任をわたしたちに負わせようと、たくらんでいるのだ」。

5:29 これに対して、ペテロをはじめ使徒たちは言った、「人間に従うよりは、神に従うべきである。

5:30 わたしたちの先祖の神は、あなたがたが木にかけて殺したイエスをよみがえらせ、

5:31 そして、イスラエルを悔い改めさせてこれに罪のゆるしを与えるために、このイエスを導き手とし救主として、ご自身の右に上げられたのである。

5:32 わたしたちはこれらの事の証人である。神がご自身に従う者に賜わった聖霊もまた、その証人である」。

5:17 そこで、大祭司とその仲間たち全部、すなわちサドカイ派の者はみな、ねたみに燃えて立ち上がり、

5:18 使徒たちを捕え、留置場に入れた。

5:19 ところが、夜、主の使いが牢の戸を開き、彼らを連れ出し、

5:20 「行って宮の中に立ち、人々にこのいのちのことばを、ことごとく語りなさい。」と言った。

5:21 彼らはこれを聞くと、夜明けごろ宮にはいって教え始めた。一方、大祭司とその仲間たちは集まって来て、議会とイスラエル人のすべての長老を召集し、使徒たちを引き出して来させるために、人を獄舎にやった。

5:22 ところが役人たちが行ってみると、牢の中には彼らがいなかったので、引き返してこう報告した。

5:23 「獄舎は完全にしまっており、番人たちが戸口に立っていましたが、あけてみると、中にはだれもおりませんでした。」

5:24 宮の守衛長や祭司長たちは、このことばを聞いて、いったいこれはどうなって行くのかと、使徒たちのことで当惑した。

5:25 そこへ、ある人がやって来て、「大変です。あなたがたが牢に入れた人たちが、宮の中に立って、人々を教えています。」と告げた。

5:26 そこで、宮の守衛長は役人たちといっしょに出て行き、使徒たちを連れて来た。しかし、手荒なことはしなかった。人々に石で打ち殺されるのを恐れたからである。

5:27 彼らが使徒たちを連れて来て議会の中に立たせると、大祭司は使徒たちを問いただして、

5:28 言った。「あの名によって教えてはならないときびしく命じておいたのに、何ということだ。エルサレム中にあなたがたの教えを広めてしまい、そのうえ、あの人の血の責任をわれわれに負わせようとしているではないか。」

5:29 ペテロをはじめ使徒たちは答えて言った。「人に従うより、神に従うべきです。

5:30 私たちの先祖の神は、あなたがたが十字架にかけて殺したイエスを、よみがえらせたのです。

5:31 そして神は、イスラエルに悔い改めと罪の赦しを与えるために、このイエスを君とし、救い主として、ご自分の右に上げられました。

5:32 私たちはそのことの証人です。神がご自分に従う者たちにお与えになった聖霊もそのことの証人です。」

5:17 そこで、大祭司とその仲間のサドカイ派の人々は皆立ち上がり、ねたみに燃えて、

5:18 使徒たちを捕らえて公の牢に入れた。

5:19 ところが、夜中に主の天使が牢の戸を開け、彼らを外に連れ出し、

5:20 「行って神殿の境内に立ち、この命の言葉を残らず民衆に告げなさい」と言った。

5:21 これを聞いた使徒たちは、夜明けごろ境内に入って教え始めた。一方、大祭司とその仲間が集まり、最高法院、すなわちイスラエルの子らの長老会全体を召集し、使徒たちを引き出すために、人を牢に差し向けた。

5:22 下役たちが行ってみると、使徒たちは牢にいなかった。彼らは戻って来て報告した。

5:23 「牢にはしっかり鍵がかかっていたうえに、戸の前には番兵が立っていました。ところが、開けてみると、中にはだれもいませんでした。」

5:24 この報告を聞いた神殿守衛長と祭司長たちは、どうなることかと、使徒たちのことで思い惑った。

5:25 そのとき、人が来て、「御覧ください。あなたがたが牢に入れた者たちが、境内にいて民衆に教えています」と告げた。

5:26 そこで、守衛長は下役を率いて出て行き、使徒たちを引き立てて来た。しかし、民衆に石を投げつけられるのを恐れて、手荒なことはしなかった。

5:27 彼らが使徒たちを引いて来て最高法院の中に立たせると、大祭司が尋問した。

5:28 「あの名によって教えてはならないと、厳しく命じておいたではないか。それなのに、お前たちはエルサレム中に自分の教えを広め、あの男の血を流した責任を我々に負わせようとしている。」

5:29 ペトロとほかの使徒たちは答えた。「人間に従うよりも、神に従わなくてはなりません。

5:30 わたしたちの先祖の神は、あなたがたが木につけて殺したイエスを復活させられました。

5:31 神はイスラエルを悔い改めさせ、その罪を赦すために、この方を導き手とし、救い主として、御自分の右に上げられました。

5:32 わたしたちはこの事実の証人であり、また、神が御自分に従う人々にお与えになった聖霊も、このことを証ししておられます。」

5:17 Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation,

5:18 and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison.

5:19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,

5:20 "Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life."

5:21 And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught. But the high priest and those with him came and called the council together, with all the elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

5:22 But when the officers came and did not find them in the prison, they returned and reported,

5:23 saying, "Indeed we found the prison shut securely, and the guards standing outside before the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside!"

5:24 Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be.

5:25 So one came and told them, saying, "Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!"

5:26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

5:27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,

5:28 saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!"

5:29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.

5:30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

5:31 "Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

5:32 "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

5:17 Then the High Priest and all his companions, members of the local party of the Sadducees, became extremely jealous of the apostles; so they decided to take action.

5:18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.

5:19 But that night an angel of the Lord opened the prison gates, led the apostles out, and said to them,

5:20 "Go and stand in the Temple, and tell the people all about this new life."

5:21 The apostles obeyed, and at dawn they entered the Temple and started teaching. /The High Priest and his companions called together all the Jewish elders for a full meeting of the Council; then they sent orders to the prison to have the apostles brought before them.

5:22 But when the officials arrived, they did not find the apostles in prison, so they returned to the Council and reported,

5:23 "When we arrived at the jail, we found it locked up tight and all the guards on watch at the gates; but when we opened the gates, we found no one inside!"

5:24 When the chief priests and the officer in charge of the Temple guards heard this, they wondered what had happened to the apostles.

5:25 Then a man came in and said to them, "Listen! The men you put in prison are in the Temple teaching the people!"

5:26 So the officer went off with his men and brought the apostles back. They did not use force, however, because they were afraid that the people might stone them.

5:27 They brought the apostles in, made them stand before the Council, and the High Priest questioned them.

5:28 "We gave you strict orders not to teach in the name of this man," he said; "but see what you have done! You have spread your teaching all over Jerusalem, and you want to make us responsible for his death!"

5:29 Peter and the other apostles answered, "We must obey God, not men.

5:30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from death, after you had killed him by nailing him to a cross.

5:31 God raised him to his right side as Leader and Savior, to give the people of Israel the opportunity to repent and have their sins forgiven.

5:32 We are witnesses to these things-we and the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to those who obey him."
