13:12 さて、イエスは、弟子たちの足を洗ってしまうと、上着を着て、再び席に着いて言われた。「わたしがあなたがたにしたことが分かるか。

13:13 あなたがたは、わたしを『先生』とか『主』とか呼ぶ。そのように言うのは正しい。わたしはそうである。

13:14 ところで、主であり、師であるわたしがあなたがたの足を洗ったのだから、あなたがたも互いに足を洗い合わなければならない。

13:15 わたしがあなたがたにしたとおりに、あなたがたもするようにと、模範を示したのである。

13:16 はっきり言っておく。僕は主人にまさらず、遣わされた者は遣わした者にまさりはしない。

13:17 このことが分かり、そのとおりに実行するなら、幸いである。

13:18 わたしは、あなたがた皆について、こう言っているのではない。わたしは、どのような人々を選び出したか分かっている。しかし、『わたしのパンを食べている者が、わたしに逆らった』という聖書の言葉は実現しなければならない。

13:19 事の起こる前に、今、言っておく。事が起こったとき、『わたしはある』ということを、あなたがたが信じるようになるためである。

13:20 はっきり言っておく。わたしの遣わす者を受け入れる人は、わたしを受け入れ、わたしを受け入れる人は、わたしをお遣わしになった方を受け入れるのである。」

13:12 After Jesus had washed their feet, he put his outer garment back on and returned to his place at the table. "Do you understand what I have just done to you?" he asked.

13:13 "You call me Teacher and Lord, and it is right that you do so, because that is what I am.

13:14 I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another's feet.

13:15 I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you.

13:16 I am telling you the truth: no slaves are greater than their master, and no messengers are greater than the one who sent them.

13:17 Now that you know this truth, how happy you will be if you put it into practice!

13:18 "I am not talking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the scripture must come true that says, "The man who shared my food turned against me.'

13:19 I tell you this now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe that "I Am Who I Am.'

13:20 I am telling you the truth: whoever receives anyone I send receives me also; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me."
