13:21 イエスはこう話し終えると、心を騒がせ、断言された。「はっきり言っておく。あなたがたのうちの一人がわたしを裏切ろうとしている。」

13:22 弟子たちは、だれについて言っておられるのか察しかねて、顔を見合わせた。

13:23 イエスのすぐ隣には、弟子たちの一人で、イエスの愛しておられた者が食事の席に着いていた。

13:24 シモン・ペトロはこの弟子に、だれについて言っておられるのかと尋ねるように合図した。

13:25 その弟子が、イエスの胸もとに寄りかかったまま、「主よ、それはだれのことですか」と言うと、

13:26 イエスは、「わたしがパン切れを浸して与えるのがその人だ」と答えられた。それから、パン切れを浸して取り、イスカリオテのシモンの子ユダにお与えになった。

13:27 ユダがパン切れを受け取ると、サタンが彼の中に入った。そこでイエスは、「しようとしていることを、今すぐ、しなさい」と彼に言われた。

13:28 座に着いていた者はだれも、なぜユダにこう言われたのか分からなかった。

13:29 ある者は、ユダが金入れを預かっていたので、「祭りに必要な物を買いなさい」とか、貧しい人に何か施すようにと、イエスが言われたのだと思っていた。

13:30 ユダはパン切れを受け取ると、すぐ出て行った。夜であった。

◆新しい掟

13:31 さて、ユダが出て行くと、イエスは言われた。「今や、人の子は栄光を受けた。神も人の子によって栄光をお受けになった。

13:32 神が人の子によって栄光をお受けになったのであれば、神も御自身によって人の子に栄光をお与えになる。しかも、すぐにお与えになる。

13:33 子たちよ、いましばらく、わたしはあなたがたと共にいる。あなたがたはわたしを捜すだろう。『わたしが行く所にあなたたちは来ることができない』とユダヤ人たちに言ったように、今、あなたがたにも同じことを言っておく。

13:34 あなたがたに新しい掟を与える。互いに愛し合いなさい。わたしがあなたがたを愛したように、あなたがたも互いに愛し合いなさい。

13:35 互いに愛し合うならば、それによってあなたがたがわたしの弟子であることを、皆が知るようになる。」

13:21 After Jesus had said this, he was deeply troubled and declared openly, "I am telling you the truth: one of you is going to betray me."

13:22 The disciples looked at one another, completely puzzled about whom he meant.

13:23 One of the disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was sitting next to Jesus.

13:24 Simon Peter motioned to him and said, "Ask him whom he is talking about."

13:25 So that disciple moved closer to Jesus' side and asked, "Who is it, Lord?"

13:26 Jesus answered, "I will dip some bread in the sauce and give it to him; he is the man." So he took a piece of bread, dipped it, and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.

13:27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, "Hurry and do what you must!"

13:28 None of the others at the table understood why Jesus said this to him.

13:29 Since Judas was in charge of the money bag, some of the disciples thought that Jesus had told him to go and buy what they needed for the festival, or to give something to the poor.

13:30 Judas accepted the bread and went out at once. It was night.

13:31 After Judas had left, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man's glory is revealed; now God's glory is revealed through him.

13:32 And if God's glory is revealed through him, then God will reveal the glory of the Son of Man in himself, and he will do so at once.

13:33 My children, I shall not be with you very much longer. You will look for me; but I tell you now what I told the Jewish authorities, "You cannot go where I am going.'

13:34 And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

13:35 If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples."
