16:25 「わたしはこれらのことを、たとえを用いて話してきた。もはやたとえによらず、はっきり父について知らせる時が来る。

16:26 その日には、あなたがたはわたしの名によって願うことになる。わたしがあなたがたのために父に願ってあげる、とは言わない。

16:27 父御自身が、あなたがたを愛しておられるのである。あなたがたが、わたしを愛し、わたしが神のもとから出て来たことを信じたからである。

16:28 わたしは父のもとから出て、世に来たが、今、世を去って、父のもとに行く。」

16:29 弟子たちは言った。「今は、はっきりとお話しになり、少しもたとえを用いられません。

16:30 あなたが何でもご存じで、だれもお尋ねする必要のないことが、今、分かりました。これによって、あなたが神のもとから来られたと、わたしたちは信じます。」

16:31 イエスはお答えになった。「今ようやく、信じるようになったのか。

16:32 だが、あなたがたが散らされて自分の家に帰ってしまい、わたしをひとりきりにする時が来る。いや、既に来ている。しかし、わたしはひとりではない。父が、共にいてくださるからだ。

16:33 これらのことを話したのは、あなたがたがわたしによって平和を得るためである。あなたがたには世で苦難がある。しかし、勇気を出しなさい。わたしは既に世に勝っている。」

16:25 "I have used figures of speech to tell you these things. But the time will come when I will not use figures of speech, but will speak to you plainly about the Father.

16:26 When that day comes, you will ask him in my name; and I do not say that I will ask him on your behalf,

16:27 for the Father himself loves you. He loves you because you love me and have believed that I came from God.

16:28 I did come from the Father, and I came into the world; and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father."

16:29 Then his disciples said to him, "Now you are speaking plainly, without using figures of speech.

16:30 We know now that you know everything; you do not need to have someone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God."

16:31 Jesus answered them, "Do you believe now?

16:32 The time is coming, and is already here, when all of you will be scattered, each of you to your own home, and I will be left all alone. But I am not really alone, because the Father is with me.

16:33 I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!"
