「新しい出エジプト」

16章

新共同 エレ 16:1-21

16:1 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。

16:2 「あなたはこのところで妻をめとってはならない。息子や娘を得てはならない。」

16:3 このところで生まれる息子、娘、この地で彼らを産む母、彼らをもうけた父について、主はこう言われる。

16:4 「彼らは弱り果てて死ぬ。嘆く者も、葬る者もなく、土の肥やしとなる。彼らは剣と飢饉によって滅びる。その死体は空の鳥、野の獣の餌食となる。」

16:5 主はこう言われる。「あなたは弔いの家に入るな。嘆くために行くな。悲しみを表すな。わたしはこの民から、わたしの与えた平和も慈しみも憐れみも取り上げる」と主は言われる。

16:6 「身分の高い者も低い者もこの地で死に、彼らを葬る者はない。彼らのために嘆く者も、体を傷つける者も、髪をそり落とす者もない。

16:7 死者を悼む人を力づけるために、パンを裂く者もなく、死者の父や母を力づけるために、杯を与える者もない。

16:8 あなたは酒宴の家に入るな。彼らと共に座って、飲み食いしてはならない。」

16:9 万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる。「見よ、わたしはこのところから、お前たちの目の前から、お前たちが生きているかぎり、喜びの声、祝いの声、花婿の声、花嫁の声を絶えさせる。」

16:10 あなたが、この民にこれらの言葉をすべて告げるならば、彼らはあなたに、「なぜ主はこの大いなる災いをもたらす、と言って我々を脅かされるのか。我々は、どのような悪、どのような罪を我々の神、主に対して犯したのか」と言うであろう。

16:11 あなたは、彼らに答えるがよい。「お前たちの先祖がわたしを捨てたからだ」と主は言われる。「彼らは他の神々に従って歩み、それに仕え、ひれ伏し、わたしを捨て、わたしの律法を守らなかった。

16:12 お前たちは先祖よりも、更に重い悪を行った。おのおのそのかたくなで悪い心に従って歩み、わたしに聞き従わなかった。

16:13 わたしは、お前たちをこの地から、お前たちも先祖も知らなかった地へ追放する。お前たちは、そのところで昼も夜も他の神々に仕えるがよい。もはやわたしは、お前たちに恩恵をほどこさない。」

◆新しい出エジプト

16:14 見よ、このような日が来る、と主は言われる。人々はもう、「イスラエルの人々をエジプトから導き上られた主は生きておられる」と言わず、

16:15 「イスラエルの子らを、北の国、彼らが追いやられた国々から導き上られた主は生きておられる」と言うようになる。わたしは彼らを、わたしがその先祖に与えた土地に帰らせる。

16:16 見よ、わたしは多くの漁師を遣わして、彼らを釣り上げさせる、と主は言われる。その後、わたしは多くの狩人を遣わして、すべての山、すべての丘、岩の裂け目から、彼らを狩り出させる。

16:17 わたしの目は、彼らのすべての道に注がれている。彼らはわたしの前から身を隠すこともできず、その悪をわたしの目から隠すこともできない。

16:18 まず、わたしは彼らの罪と悪を二倍にして報いる。彼らがわたしの地を、憎むべきものの死体で汚し、わたしの嗣業を忌むべきもので満たしたからだ。

16:19 主よ、わたしの力、わたしの砦／苦難が襲うときの逃れ場よ。あなたのもとに／国々は地の果てから来て言うでしょう。「我々の先祖が自分のものとしたのは／偽りで、空しく、無益なものであった。

16:20 人間が神を造れようか。そのようなものが神であろうか」と。

16:21 それゆえ、わたしは彼らに知らせよう。今度こそ、わたしは知らせる／わたしの手、わたしの力強い業を。彼らはわたしの名が主であることを知る。

ＴＥＶ エレ 16:1-21

16:1 Again the Lord spoke to me and said,

16:2 "Do not marry or have children in a place like this.

16:3 I will tell you what is going to happen to the children who are born here and to their parents.

16:4 They will die of terrible diseases, and no one will mourn for them or bury them. Their bodies will lie like piles of manure on the ground. They will be killed in war or die of starvation, and their bodies will be food for the birds and the wild animals.

16:5 "You must not enter a house where there is mourning. Do not grieve for anyone. I will no longer bless my people with peace or show them love and mercy.

16:6 The rich and the poor will die in this land, but no one will bury them or mourn for them. Not one of you will gash yourself or shave your head to show your grief.

16:7 No one will eat or drink with anyone to offer comfort when a loved one dies. No one will show sympathy, not even for someone who has lost a father or mother.

16:8 "Do not enter a house where people are feasting. Do not sit down with them to eat and drink.

16:9 Listen to what I, the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, have to say. I will silence the sounds of joy and gladness and the happy sounds of wedding feasts. The people here will live to see this happen.

16:10 "When you tell them all this, they will ask you why I have decided to punish them so harshly. They will ask what crime they are guilty of and what sin they have committed against the Lord their God.

16:11 Then tell them that the Lord has said, "Your ancestors turned away from me and worshiped and served other gods. They abandoned me and did not obey my teachings.

16:12 But you have done even worse than your ancestors. All of you are stubborn and evil, and you do not obey me.

16:13 So then, I will throw you out of this land into a land that neither you nor your ancestors have ever known. And there you will serve other gods day and night, and I will show you no mercy."'

16:14 The Lord says, "The time is coming when people will no longer swear by me as the living God who brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

16:15 Instead, they will swear by me as the living God who brought the people of Israel out of a northern land and out of all the other countries where I had scattered them. I will bring them back to their own country, to the land that I gave their ancestors. I, the Lord, have spoken."

16:16 The Lord says, "I am sending for many fishermen to come and catch these people. Then I will send for many hunters to hunt them down on every mountain and hill and in the caves among the rocks.

16:17 I see everything they do. Nothing is hidden from me; their sins do not escape my sight.

16:18 I will make them pay double for their sin and wickedness, because they have defiled my land with idols that are as lifeless as corpses, and have filled it with their false gods."

16:19 Lord, you are the one who protects me and gives me strength; you help me in times of trouble. Nations will come to you from the ends of the earth and say, "Our ancestors had nothing but false gods, nothing but useless idols.

16:20 Can people make their own gods? No, if they did, those would not really be gods."

16:21 "So then," says the Lord, "once and for all I will make the nations know my power and my might; they will know that I am the Lord."
