50:1 主はこう言われる。お前たちの母親を追い出したときの／わたしの離縁状はどれか。お前たちを売り渡した時の債権者は誰か。お前たちの罪によってお前たちは売り渡され／お前たちの背きのために母親は追い出されたのだ。

50:2 何故、わたしが来ても、だれもいないのか。呼んでも答えないのか。わたしの手は短すぎて贖うことができず／わたしには救い出す力がないというのか。見よ、わたしが叱咤すれば海は干上がり／大河も荒れ野に変わる。水は涸れ、魚は異臭を放ち／渇きのために死ぬ。

50:3 わたしは、天に喪服をまとわせ、粗布で覆う。

50:1 The Lord says, /"Do you think I sent my people away /like a man who divorces his wife? /Where, then, are the papers of divorce? /Do you think I sold you into captivity /like a man who sells his children as slaves? /No, you went away captive because of your sins; /you were sent away because of your crimes.

50:2 "Why did my people fail to respond /when I went to them to save them? /Why did they not answer when I called? /Am I too weak to save them? /I can dry up the sea with a command /and turn rivers into a desert, /so that the fish in them die for lack of water.

50:3 I can make the sky turn dark, /as if it were in mourning for the dead."
