16:1 これらのことを話したのは、あなたがたをつまずかせないためである。

16:2 人々はあなたがたを会堂から追放するだろう。しかも、あなたがたを殺す者が皆、自分は神に奉仕していると考える時が来る。

16:3 彼らがこういうことをするのは、父をもわたしをも知らないからである。

16:4 しかし、これらのことを話したのは、その時が来たときに、わたしが語ったということをあなたがたに思い出させるためである。」

◆聖霊の働き

16:4 「初めからこれらのことを言わなかったのは、わたしがあなたがたと一緒にいたからである。

16:5 今わたしは、わたしをお遣わしになった方のもとに行こうとしているが、あなたがたはだれも、『どこへ行くのか』と尋ねない。

16:6 むしろ、わたしがこれらのことを話したので、あなたがたの心は悲しみで満たされている。

16:7 しかし、実を言うと、わたしが去って行くのは、あなたがたのためになる。わたしが去って行かなければ、弁護者はあなたがたのところに来ないからである。わたしが行けば、弁護者をあなたがたのところに送る。

16:8 その方が来れば、罪について、義について、また、裁きについて、世の誤りを明らかにする。

16:9 罪についてとは、彼らがわたしを信じないこと、

16:10 義についてとは、わたしが父のもとに行き、あなたがたがもはやわたしを見なくなること、

16:11 また、裁きについてとは、この世の支配者が断罪されることである。

16:12 言っておきたいことは、まだたくさんあるが、今、あなたがたには理解できない。

16:13 しかし、その方、すなわち、真理の霊が来ると、あなたがたを導いて真理をことごとく悟らせる。その方は、自分から語るのではなく、聞いたことを語り、また、これから起こることをあなたがたに告げるからである。

ＴＥＶ ヨハ 16:0-15

16:1 "I have told you this, so that you will not give up your faith.

16:2 You will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time will come when those who kill you will think that by doing this they are serving God.

16:3 People will do these things to you because they have not known either the Father or me.

16:4 But I have told you this, so that when the time comes for them to do these things, you will remember what I told you.

16:5 But now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me where I am going.

16:6 And now that I have told you, your hearts are full of sadness.

16:7 But I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I go away, because if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. But if I do go away, then I will send him to you.

16:8 And when he comes, he will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God's judgment.

16:9 They are wrong about sin, because they do not believe in me;

16:10 they are wrong about what is right, because I am going to the Father and you will not see me any more;

16:11 and they are wrong about judgment, because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

16:12 "I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much for you to bear.

16:13 When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears and will tell you of things to come.

16:14 He will give me glory, because he will take what I say and tell it to you.

16:15 All that my Father has is mine; that is why I said that the Spirit will take what I give him and tell it to you.
