8:11 わたしが今日命じる戒めと法と掟を守らず、あなたの神、主を忘れることのないように、注意しなさい。

8:12 あなたが食べて満足し、立派な家を建てて住み、

8:13 牛や羊が殖え、銀や金が増し、財産が豊かになって、

8:14 心おごり、あなたの神、主を忘れることのないようにしなさい。主はあなたをエジプトの国、奴隷の家から導き出し、

8:15 炎の蛇とさそりのいる、水のない乾いた、広くて恐ろしい荒れ野を行かせ、硬い岩から水を湧き出させ、

8:16 あなたの先祖が味わったことのないマナを荒れ野で食べさせてくださった。それは、あなたを苦しめて試し、ついには幸福にするためであった。

8:17 あなたは、「自分の力と手の働きで、この富を築いた」などと考えてはならない。

8:18 むしろ、あなたの神、主を思い起こしなさい。富を築く力をあなたに与えられたのは主であり、主が先祖に誓われた契約を果たして、今日のようにしてくださったのである。

8:19 もしあなたが、あなたの神、主を忘れて他の神々に従い、それに仕えて、ひれ伏すようなことがあれば、わたしは、今日、あなたたちに証言する。あなたたちは必ず滅びる。

8:20 主があなたたちの前から滅ぼされた国々と同じように、あなたたちも、あなたたちの神、主の御声に聞き従わないがゆえに、滅び去る。

ＴＥＶ 申  8:11-20

8:11 "Make certain that you do not forget the Lord your God; do not fail to obey any of his laws that I am giving you today.

8:12 When you have all you want to eat and have built good houses to live in

8:13 and when your cattle and sheep, your silver and gold, and all your other possessions have increased,

8:14 be sure that you do not become proud and forget the Lord your God who rescued you from Egypt, where you were slaves.

8:15 He led you through that vast and terrifying desert where there were poisonous snakes and scorpions. In that dry and waterless land he made water flow out of solid rock for you.

8:16 In the desert he gave you manna to eat, food that your ancestors had never eaten. He sent hardships on you to test you, so that in the end he could bless you with good things.

8:17 So then, you must never think that you have made yourselves wealthy by your own power and strength.

8:18 Remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the power to become rich. He does this because he is still faithful today to the covenant that he made with your ancestors.

8:19 Never forget the Lord your God or turn to other gods to worship and serve them. If you do, then I warn you today that you will certainly be destroyed.

8:20 If you do not obey the Lord, then you will be destroyed just like those nations that he is going to destroy as you advance.
