5:17 わたしが律法や預言者を廃するためにきた、と思ってはならない。廃するためではなく、成就するためにきたのである。
5:18 よく言っておく。天地が滅び行くまでは、律法の一点、一画もすたることはなく、ことごとく全うされるのである。
5:19 それだから、これらの最も小さいいましめの一つでも破り、またそうするように人に教えたりする者は、天国で最も小さい者と呼ばれるであろう。しかし、これをおこないまたそう教える者は、天国で大いなる者と呼ばれるであろう。
5:20 わたしは言っておく。あなたがたの義が律法学者やパリサイ人の義にまさっていなければ、決して天国に、はいることはできない。

5:17 わたしが来たのは律法や預言者を廃棄するためだと思ってはなりません。廃棄するためにではなく、成就するために来たのです。
5:18 まことに、あなたがたに告げます。天地が滅びうせない限り、律法の中の一点一画でも決してすたれることはありません。全部が成就されます。
5:19 だから、戒めのうち最も小さいものの一つでも、これを破ったり、また破るように人に教えたりする者は、天の御国で、最も小さい者と呼ばれます。しかし、それを守り、また守るように教える者は、天の御国で、偉大な者と呼ばれます。
5:20 まことに、あなたがたに告げます。もしあなたがたの義が、律法学者やパリサイ人の義にまさるものでないなら、あなたがたは決して天の御国に、はいれません。

5:17 "Do not think
that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but
to fulfill.
5:18 "For assuredly,
I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no
means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
5:19 "Whoever
therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so,
shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches
them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
5:20 "For I say to
you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes
and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

5:17 "Do not think
that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the
prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings
come true.
5:18 Remember that as
long as heaven and earth last, not the least point nor the smallest detail of
the Law will be done away with-not until the end of all things.
5:19 So then, whoever
disobeys even the least important of the commandments and teaches others to do
the same, will be least in the Kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever
obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the Kingdom
of heaven.
5:20 I tell you, then,
that you will be able to enter the Kingdom of heaven only if you are more
faithful than the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees in doing what God
requires.
