11:20 それからイエスは、数々の力あるわざがなされたのに、悔い改めることをしなかった町々を、責めはじめられた。
11:21 「わざわいだ、コラジンよ。わざわいだ、ベツサイダよ。おまえたちのうちでなされた力あるわざが、もしツロとシドンでなされたなら、彼らはとうの昔に、荒布をまとい灰をかぶって、悔い改めたであろう。
11:22 しかし、おまえたちに言っておく。さばきの日には、ツロとシドンの方がおまえたちよりも、耐えやすいであろう。
11:23 ああ、カペナウムよ、おまえは天にまで上げられようとでもいうのか。黄泉にまで落されるであろう。おまえの中でなされた力あるわざが、もしソドムでなされたなら、その町は今日までも残っていたであろう。
11:24 しかし、あなたがたに言う。さばきの日には、ソドムの地の方がおまえよりは耐えやすいであろう」。

11:23 カペナウム。どうしておまえが天に上げられることがありえよう。ハデスに落とされるのだ。おまえの中でなされた力あるわざが、もしもソドムでなされたのだったら、ソドムはきょうまで残っていたことだろう。
11:24 しかし、そのソドムの地のほうが、おまえたちに言うが、さばきの日には、まだおまえよりは罰が軽いのだ。」

11:21 「コラジン、お前は不幸だ。ベトサイダ、お前は不幸だ。お前たちのところで行われた奇跡が、ティルスやシドンで行われていれば、これらの町はとうの昔に粗布をまとい、灰をかぶって悔い改めたにちがいない。
11:22 しかし、言っておく。裁きの日にはティルスやシドンの方が、お前たちよりまだ軽い罰で済む。
11:23 また、カファルナウム、お前は、／天にまで上げられるとでも思っているのか。陰府にまで落とされるのだ。お前のところでなされた奇跡が、ソドムで行われていれば、あの町は今日まで無事だったにちがいない。
11:24 しかし、言っておく。裁きの日にはソドムの地の方が、お前よりまだ軽い罰で済むのである。」

11:20 Then He began to
rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they
did not repent:
11:21 "Woe to you,
Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you
had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth
and ashes.
11:22 "But I say to
you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than
for you.
11:23 "And you,
Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the
mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have
remained until this day.
11:24 "But I say to
you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of
judgment than for you."

11:20 The people in the
towns where Jesus had performed most of his miracles did not turn from their
sins, so he reproached those towns.
11:21 "How terrible
it will be for you, Chorazin! How terrible for you too, Bethsaida! If the
miracles which were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, the
people there would have long ago put on sackcloth and sprinkled ashes on
themselves, to show that they had turned from their sins!
11:22 I assure you that
on the Judgment Day God will show more mercy to the people of Tyre and Sidon
than to you!
11:23 And as for you,
Capernaum! Did you want to lift yourself up to heaven? You will be thrown down
to hell! If the miracles which were performed in you had been performed in
Sodom, it would still be in existence today!
11:24 You can be sure
that on the Judgment Day God will show more mercy to Sodom than to you!"
