13:53 イエスはこれらの譬を語り終えてから、そこを立ち去られた。
13:54 そして郷里に行き、会堂で人々を教えられたところ、彼らは驚いて言った、「この人は、この知恵とこれらの力あるわざとを、どこで習ってきたのか。
13:55 この人は大工の子ではないか。母はマリヤといい、兄弟たちは、ヤコブ、ヨセフ、シモン、ユダではないか。
13:56 またその姉妹たちもみな、わたしたちと一緒にいるではないか。こんな数々のことを、いったい、どこで習ってきたのか」。
13:57 こうして人々はイエスにつまずいた。しかし、イエスは言われた、「預言者は、自分の郷里や自分の家以外では、どこででも敬われないことはない」。
13:58 そして彼らの不信仰のゆえに、そこでは力あるわざを、あまりなさらなかった。

13:53 これらのたとえを話し終えると、イエスはそこを去られた。
13:54 それから、ご自分の郷里に行って、会堂で人々を教え始められた。すると、彼らは驚いて言った。「この人は、こんな知恵と不思議な力をどこで得たのでしょう。
13:55 この人は大工の息子ではありませんか。彼の母親はマリヤで、彼の兄弟は、ヤコブ、ヨセフ、シモン、ユダではありませんか。
13:56 妹たちもみな私たちといっしょにいるではありませんか。とすると、いったいこの人は、これらのものをどこから得たのでしょう。」
13:57 こうして、彼らはイエスにつまずいた。しかし、イエスは彼らに言われた。「預言者が尊敬されないのは、自分の郷里、家族の間だけです。」
13:58 そして、イエスは、彼らの不信仰のゆえに、そこでは多くの奇蹟をなさらなかった。

13:53 Now it came to
pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there.
13:54 And when He had
come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were
astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty
works?
13:55 "Is this not
the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James,
Joses, Simon, and Judas?
13:56 "And His
sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these
things?"
13:57 So they were
offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor
except in his own country and in his own house."
13:58 Now He did not do
many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

13:53 When Jesus finished
telling these parables, he left that place
13:54 and went back to
his hometown. He taught in the synagogue, and those who heard him were amazed.
"Where did he get such wisdom?" they asked. "And what about his
miracles?
13:55 Isn't he the
carpenter's son? Isn't Mary his mother, and aren't James, Joseph, Simon, and
Judas his brothers?
13:56 Aren't all his
sisters living here? Where did he get all this?"
13:57 And so they
rejected him. /Jesus said to them, "A prophet is respected everywhere
except in his hometown and by his own family."
13:58 Because they did
not have faith, he did not perform many miracles there.
