19:1 そこでピラトは、イエスを捕え、むちで打たせた。
19:2 兵卒たちは、いばらで冠をあんで、イエスの頭にかぶらせ、紫の上着を着せ、
19:3 それから、その前に進み出て、「ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい」と言った。そして平手でイエスを打ちつづけた。
19:4 するとピラトは、また出て行ってユダヤ人たちに言った、「見よ、わたしはこの人をあなたがたの前に引き出すが、それはこの人になんの罪も見いだせないことを、あなたがたに知ってもらうためである」。
19:5 イエスはいばらの冠をかぶり、紫の上着を着たままで外へ出られると、ピラトは彼らに言った、「見よ、この人だ」。
19:6 祭司長たちや下役どもはイエスを見ると、叫んで「十字架につけよ、十字架につけよ」と言った。ピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたが、この人を引き取って十字架につけるがよい。わたしは、彼にはなんの罪も見いだせない」。
19:7 ユダヤ人たちは彼に答えた、「わたしたちには律法があります。その律法によれば、彼は自分を神の子としたのだから、死罪に当る者です」。
19:8 ピラトがこの言葉を聞いたとき、ますますおそれ、
19:9 もう一度官邸にはいってイエスに言った、「あなたは、もともと、どこからきたのか」。しかし、イエスはなんの答もなさらなかった。
19:10 そこでピラトは言った、「何も答えないのか。わたしには、あなたを許す権威があり、また十字架につける権威があることを、知らないのか」。
19:11 イエスは答えられた、「あなたは、上から賜わるのでなければ、わたしに対してなんの権威もない。だから、わたしをあなたに引き渡した者の罪は、もっと大きい」。
19:12 これを聞いて、ピラトはイエスを許そうと努めた。しかしユダヤ人たちが叫んで言った、「もしこの人を許したなら、あなたはカイザルの味方ではありません。自分を王とするものはすべて、カイザルにそむく者です」。

19:4 ピラトは、もう一度外に出て来て、彼らに言った。「よく聞きなさい。あなたがたのところにあの人を連れ出して来ます。あの人に何の罪も見られないということを、あなたがたに知らせるためです。」
19:5 それでイエスは、いばらの冠と紫色の着物を着けて、出て来られた。するとピラトは彼らに「さあ、この人です。」と言った。
19:6 祭司長たちや役人たちはイエスを見ると、激しく叫んで、「十字架につけろ。十字架につけろ。」と言った。ピラトは彼らに言った。「あなたがたがこの人を引き取り、十字架につけなさい。私はこの人には罪を認めません。」
19:7 ユダヤ人たちは彼に答えた。「私たちには律法があります。この人は自分を神の子としたのですから、律法によれば、死に当たります。」
19:8 ピラトは、このことばを聞くと、ますます恐れた。

19:5 イエスは茨の冠をかぶり、紫の服を着けて出て来られた。ピラトは、「見よ、この男だ」と言った。
19:6 祭司長たちや下役たちは、イエスを見ると、「十字架につけろ。十字架につけろ」と叫んだ。ピラトは言った。「あなたたちが引き取って、十字架につけるがよい。わたしはこの男に罪を見いだせない。」
19:7 ユダヤ人たちは答えた。「わたしたちには律法があります。律法によれば、この男は死罪に当たります。神の子と自称したからです。」
19:8 ピラトは、この言葉を聞いてますます恐れ、
19:9 再び総督官邸の中に入って、「お前はどこから来たのか」とイエスに言った。しかし、イエスは答えようとされなかった。
19:10 そこで、ピラトは言った。「わたしに答えないのか。お前を釈放する権限も、十字架につける権限も、このわたしにあることを知らないのか。」
19:11 イエスは答えられた。「神から与えられていなければ、わたしに対して何の権限もないはずだ。だから、わたしをあなたに引き渡した者の罪はもっと重い。」
19:12 そこで、ピラトはイエスを釈放しようと努めた。しかし、ユダヤ人たちは叫んだ。「もし、この男を釈放するなら、あなたは皇帝の友ではない。王と自称する者は皆、皇帝に背いています。」

19:1 So then Pilate took
Jesus and scourged Him.
19:2 And the soldiers
twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple
robe.
19:3 Then they said,
"Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck Him with their hands.
19:4 Pilate then went out
again, and said to them, "Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you
may know that I find no fault in Him."
19:5 Then Jesus came out,
wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them,
"Behold the Man!"
19:6 Therefore, when the
chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, "Crucify Him,
crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "You take Him and crucify Him, for
I find no fault in Him."
19:7 The Jews answered
him, "We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He
made Himself the Son of God."
19:8 Therefore, when
Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid,
19:9 and went again into
the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, "Where are You from?" But Jesus
gave him no answer.
19:10 Then Pilate said to
Him, "Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to
crucify You, and power to release You?"
19:11 Jesus answered,
"You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you
from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater
sin."
19:12 From then on Pilate
sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, "If you let this
Man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks
against Caesar."

19:1 Then Pilate took
Jesus and had him whipped.
19:2 The soldiers made a
crown out of thorny branches and put it on his head; then they put a purple
robe on him
19:3 and came to him and
said, "Long live the King of the Jews!" And they went up and slapped
him.
19:4 Pilate went back out
once more and said to the crowd, "Look, I will bring him out here to you
to let you see that I cannot find any reason to condemn him."
19:5 So Jesus came out,
wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Look!
Here is the man!"
19:6 When the chief
priests and the Temple guards saw him, they shouted, "Crucify him! Crucify
him!" /Pilate said to them, "You take him, then, and crucify him. I
find no reason to condemn him."
19:7 The crowd answered
back, "We have a law that says he ought to die, because he claimed to be
the Son of God."
19:8 When Pilate heard
this, he was even more afraid.
19:9 He went back into
the palace and asked Jesus, "Where do you come from?" /But Jesus did
not answer.
19:10 Pilate said to him,
"You will not speak to me? Remember, I have the authority to set you free
and also to have you crucified."
19:11 Jesus answered,
"You have authority over me only because it was given to you by God. So
the man who handed me over to you is guilty of a worse sin."
19:12 When Pilate heard
this, he tried to find a way to set Jesus free. But the crowd shouted back,
"If you set him free, that means that you are not the Emperor's friend!
Anyone who claims to be a king is a rebel against the Emperor!"
