19:16 そこでピラトは、十字架につけさせるために、イエスを彼らに引き渡した。彼らはイエスを引き取った。
19:17 イエスはみずから十字架を背負って、されこうべ（ヘブル語ではゴルゴダ）という場所に出て行かれた。
19:18 彼らはそこで、イエスを十字架につけた。イエスをまん中にして、ほかのふたりの者を両側に、イエスと一緒に十字架につけた。
19:19 ピラトは罪状書きを書いて、十字架の上にかけさせた。それには「ユダヤ人の王、ナザレのイエス」と書いてあった。
19:20 イエスが十字架につけられた場所は都に近かったので、多くのユダヤ人がこの罪状書きを読んだ。それはヘブル、ローマ、ギリシヤの国語で書いてあった。
19:21 ユダヤ人の祭司長たちがピラトに言った、「『ユダヤ人の王』と書かずに、『この人はユダヤ人の王と自称していた』と書いてほしい」。
19:22 ピラトは答えた、「わたしが書いたことは、書いたままにしておけ」。
19:23 さて、兵卒たちはイエスを十字架につけてから、その上着をとって四つに分け、おのおの、その一つを取った。また下着を手に取ってみたが、それには縫い目がなく、上の方から全部一つに織ったものであった。
19:24 そこで彼らは互に言った、「それを裂かないで、だれのものになるか、くじを引こう」。これは、「彼らは互にわたしの上着を分け合い、わたしの衣をくじ引にした」という聖書が成就するためで、兵卒たちはそのようにしたのである。

19:26 イエスは、その母と愛弟子とがそばに立っているのをごらんになって、母にいわれた、「婦人よ、ごらんなさい。これはあなたの子です」。

19:16 Then he delivered
Him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led Him away.
19:17 And He, bearing His
cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in
Hebrew, Golgotha,
19:18 where they
crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the
center.
19:19 Now Pilate wrote a
title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING
OF THE JEWS.
19:20 Then many of the
Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the
city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
19:21 Therefore the chief
priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,'
but, 'He said, "I am the King of the Jews." ' "
19:22 Pilate answered,
"What I have written, I have written."
19:23 Then the soldiers,
when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each
soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from
the top in one piece.
19:24 They said therefore
among themselves, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it
shall be," that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says:"They
divided My garments among them,And for My clothing they cast lots." Therefore
the soldiers did these things.
19:25 Now there stood by
the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of
Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
19:26 When Jesus
therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said
to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

19:16 Then Pilate handed
Jesus over to them to be crucified.
19:17 He went out,
carrying his cross, and came to "The Place of the Skull," as it is
called. (In Hebrew it is called "Golgotha.")
19:18 There they
crucified him; and they also crucified two other men, one on each side, with
Jesus between them.
19:19 Pilate wrote a
notice and had it put on the cross. "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the
Jews," is what he wrote.
19:20 Many people read
it, because the place where Jesus was crucified was not far from the city. The
notice was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
19:21 The chief priests
said to Pilate, "Do not write "The King of the Jews,' but rather,
"This man said, I am the King of the Jews."'
19:22 Pilate answered,
"What I have written stays written."
19:23 After the soldiers
had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one
part for each soldier. They also took the robe, which was made of one piece of
woven cloth without any seams in it.
19:24 The soldiers said
to one another, "Let's not tear it; let's throw dice to see who will get
it." This happened in order to make the scripture come true: /"They
divided my clothes among themselves /and gambled for my robe." /And this
is what the soldiers did.
19:25 Standing close to
Jesus' cross were his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and
Mary Magdalene.
19:26 Jesus saw his
mother and the disciple he loved standing there; so he said to his mother,
"He is your son."
